The Business

Bloomberg has created a new web-based information product, Bloomberg Government, that will report on, analyze and quantify the impact of government actions on business and industry. It brings the same unparalleled level of fact-based, objective reporting and analysis to policymaking as it has provided to the financial community for the past 27 years.

The Role

Bloomberg Government is seeking an intern for its analyst team. This intern will help produce rich, in-depth information on the implications of government actions for business and industry. The financial analyst will join an industry-focused team of analysts to deliver high-quality content to customers. This role’s primary responsibility will be to help assess the financial impacts of government actions on business and industry. The intern will:

- Help research and analyze earnings and valuation impacts of governmental actions

- Build quantitative financial models with extensive scenario-driven analysis to assess the impact of potential outcomes

- Analyze and present implications of legislative and regulatory changes within an industry group

- Work closely with other financial and economic analysts

Minimum Qualifications:

- Your ability to work full time from 6/01/12-08/10/12

- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA in a top tier Business School or Masters for Public Policy program

-Graduating in the Spring 2013 or Fall 2012

-Fluency in Excel

Additional Qualifications

- two to three years experience as a financial analyst at an investment bank, consulting firm or investment fund

- Experience in the development of financial models

- Strong quantitative skills and superior writing ability to translate in-depth analysis into insightful content

- Solid business and financial acumen; an understanding of fundamental principles of economics and finance

- Strong financial modeling skills and an ability to present and explain complex scenario analysis in an intuitive manner

- Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills working with a team

- An ability to grow professionally and a desire to learn

- Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment

- Demonstrable attention to detail and organizational skills

- A good communicator, strong collaborator and team player

- Accustomed to open-door office setting

- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
