Title : Maintenance Personnel

Location: Travel throughout designated area

Responsible to: Contracts Manager

Main Objectives

To undertake general maintenance duties to ensure the homes within the designated area of responsibility is maintained to an adequate level.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·  Ensuring the maintenance of homes is consistently at a high standard.

·  Ensuring that the homes are externally maintained to include, gardening, external painting, general tidiness, basic repairs.

·  To carry out any internal decorating to a high standard.

·  External window cleaning

·  Rectifying damage professionally internally and externally

·  Coordinate refurbishment as required through external contractors.

·  Respond to emergency maintenance as and when it arises including boarding up windows, replacing locks, roof repairs.

·  Ensure the homes are ready for inspection and are not penalized by regulators for being in a poor state of repair.

·  To carry out minor electrical repairs .

·  Ensure that the homes remain comfortable and welcoming for the children to live in and that oil levels are monitored.

·  Manage allocated petty cash budget.

·  Working quickly and effectively within given timescales.

·  Carpentry, i.e. door hanging, frame fitting, putting up shelves, boarding up windows, doors and minor furniture repairs

·  Minor plumbing tasks eg leaks, replacing boilers, radiator repairs etc

·  To carry out a monthly check on the house cars and change oil etc as required.

·  Other duties as required

Hours of work – hours per week will depend on need within area. Hours will be worked over 7 days to ensure continuous service to the homes.

Equipment will be provided and you have a duty to maintain it in a good state of cleanliness and repair.

You will be expected to drive from home to home in your designated area so a driving license is essential.

Empathy towards looked after children is essential as well as being reliable, hardworking and flexible.
