As the Executive Director of WEAVE, Beth Hassett leads a team of advocates, counselors, educators and volunteers who share the common goal of building a community in which domestic violence and sexual assault are not tolerated and victims have the support they need to be safe and thrive. For more than twenty years, Beth has worked for non-profit organizations as a volunteer and staff member to improve the quality of life in the Sacramento Region and beyond. In addition to her work at WEAVE, Beth has held senior management positions at the Mercy Foundation, MajorGiving.com and Capital Public Radio. In May, Valley Vision presentedBethwith the 2013 Community Leadership Award. The Sacramento Business Journal honored her as one of their 2012 Women Who Mean Business. She received the2011 Director’s Community Leadership Award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in recognition of her work in leading WEAVE’s violence education, intervention and prevention efforts. She was named the Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2008 by the Sacramento Public Relations Association and the 2004 Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In December 2010, Beth was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to the statewide Domestic Violence Advisory Council. An active community volunteer, she currently serves as a Commissioner on the First Five Sacramento Commission, President of the Midtown Business Association, Vice Chair of the Continuum of Care Advisory Board, Chair of the ALS Association of Greater Sacramento Board,and as a Board Member of the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA),the Planned Giving Forum of Sacramento, and the KVIE Community Advisory Board. She is a frequent local, regional and national presenter on the topics of fundraising, marketing, non-profit management, and violence prevention and intervention. She has two college student daughters and lives in Carmichael with her husband Kevin and pug Demetrius.

Established in 1978, WEAVE provides crisis intervention and prevention services to women, men and children in SacramentoCounty who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or human trafficking. Key programs include a Safehouse for women and children, Sexual Assault Response Team, 24 Hour Support and Information Line, Counseling, Legal Services and Prevention Education for youth and adults.
