Proposal Contents

Services with Cost Summaries: / 5
Costs and Projected Launch Date / 9

Design Services: $50,000 (all inclusive for design work)

Web Page Mockups:

DC Web Designers will provide three (3) unique designs for the homepage of space4faith. In addition, we will provide two (2) design mockups for the interior page (user homepage). Both the homepage and interior page design process will allow for two (2) rounds of revisions provided in writing. Following the approval of the homepage, and interior page, DC Web Designers will provide up to 15 wireframes that show the layout for the remaining (or most) pages. Wireframes are basic sketches that show positioning and layout.

Icon Designs:

DC Web Designers will create up to fifteen (15) icons to be used on the website. The client will provide DC Web Designers with creative information and direction for the icons. Rollover designs will also be included

Tutorial Designs:

DC Web Designers will provide the layout for up to fifteen (15) pages for the tutorial portion of the website. Each page will be allowed to have one round of revisions. Creative information and content will need to be provided by the client for each of these pages.

Flash Design:

Flash design requires a unique creative consultation. Since Flash animation works much like a movie, it is important to get the details of each frame defined prior to starting. For the sake of this proposal we will be including up to 80 hours of Flash programming. Typically this will get you a 15 to 20 second flash presentation of common image transitions and possibly illustrations.

Content Management Services: $14,000

DC Web Designers will be integrating their SmartSite CMS into the space4faith website. The SmartSite will only run the corporate pages, and not the community pages. Space4faith administrators will be able to add, edit, and delete these corporate pages. We will need to define where these pages will lie, and how they will expand during our project strategy meetings. The content management system will allow for easy updating without having prior programming knowledge.

Social and Community Network Functionality = $104,000

Join process (Login Functionality): $6500 (ties in with 3rd party community server)

User fills out form (up to 20 fields, validation for form). A confirmation email will be sent to user with login details, and link to tutorial (see section 2.0). Once a user logs into the system, they will be prompted to fill out additional information (see classmates.com for how this will work). If the user hasn’t filled out the information, they will see certain icons / links that show them the information they haven’t filled out. All the other information can be edited for their profile.

Personalization of Passport: The following are unique items to this person’s profile. They can be used at (Admin):a later time to meet with persons who have similar or the same profile. For instance, I can click on regional location (this should actually be city and state, country alone would bring up to many records to search), to find users in my region. I could also do the same with words that describe me. Each of these criteria can be coupled with other information. For instance, I can search for someone in Annapolis Maryland, who was born from 1979 – 1985, and who feels Optimistic.

  1. Regional Location: Once a user selects the country of origin (this actually should be in the initial login, the country flag will follow their profile)
  2. DOB
  3. Words that describe me: This will be a pre-populated list. If we allow persons to add to the list, it could get complicated from an administrative perspective. The other option is not to have a pre-populated list and users can type in their words… this will

Gifts: $9,000
Users can send other members “gifts”. These are themed items with personal content on them, sent to other user’s inbox or homepage. A gift can be sent from most parts of the site. Each gift will cost the sender a monetary value taken from either a credit card or personal account (stored wallet within their profile). There will be a selection of images to choose from as well as an online editor to add personal notes. Users can access their gifts from their personal homepages. There will also be a number associated to each type of gift, indicating how many gifts of that type have been sent to the user.

Photo Gallery: $6500 (additional costs are absorbed in the third party integration)
The photo gallery is a place where friends (accepted by user) can drop in photos and categorize them. Each photo can also contain a caption. When friends drop photos into a user’s photo gallery, the user is notified by some icon indicator on their homepage. Users can also submit their own photos to their photo gallery much like friends do. All photos can be managed by the user, easily adding, editing or deleting items. Photo tagging will also be tied in to the gallery functionality.

 Note: Photo Gallery includes media files, and documents

Blogging: $4500(additional costs are absorbed in the third party integration)
The blogging area is a common area where you can post a blog. Blogs are then searchable by most recent, most viewed, and most commented. In addition you can search the body of blogs for content and authors. Users can view their own blog postings from their homepage. In addition to comment on blogs, users can also “Encourage a Friend” from each blog post. The Encourage a Friend functionality will use a form of ecommerce or affiliate system we have yet to determine.

Calendar: $22,000
The user’s calendar is a color coded system that allows personal schedules, special dates submitted (added) by friends (or user), prayer promises, and special events. The calendar will use a drag and drop system where appropriate (a type system will also be available). Users will have preferences about allowing their friends of Circle of Faith to access their special dates and place them on each other’s calendars. They can mark calendar dates (or partial information) as public or private.

Daily Update: $6500
The daily update is a person area where users can post their feelings or thoughts about the current day. The history of the daily update can be accessed by their authors to view their writings of the past. The daily update may have some preexisting structure to help users begin their thoughts such as.. I am feeling…. I think… I am…

Encourage a Friend: $20,000

The Encourage a Friend functionality will be seen throughout the site. The concept is to allow people to send others thoughts, pictures, songs, merchandise, cards, and other items yet to be determined. Some encouragements will require a fee for users to pay. The capability to accept secure credit card transactions will be tied in, as well as allowing users to access their billing information they have on hand (e-wallet). Most of the merchandise sold from the Encourage a Friend section will be done so through affiliate programs. Space4Faith will offer the products on the page, but when clicked will go to an outside vendor and check out from an external site. Affiliates will then pay space4faith for every purchase made from the website. DC Web Designers will set up an SSL (secure certificate), and encryption for payments submitted on the space4faith website. Space4faith will need to set up an account (we can help recommend) with a third party to accept credit card payments and store monies.

Expanding Knowledge / Resource Library / My Memory: $15000
The content in this area will be provided by the client, and will offer users an organized way to access additional resources. This area may be driven by the SmartSite CMS (TBD). Administrators can easily add, edit, and delete resources. This is not an area of social interaction rather resources going in one direction (from administrators to users). The following files can be added as resource items: written text, documents, photos, and media files (audio/video). Within this area users can also “Encourage a Friend”.

My Memory is an area that a user can access from their homepage. The idea is for the user to select scripture or poems or other writings they wish to memorize. To do so there will be resources such as an area to write work in progress, view scripture already memorized, and allow others to post their comments on prayer and passage meaning.

Freedom4Freedom: $6500
Freedom4Freedom is much like the resource center area. However, the content within this area will focus only on addiction and rehabilitation. We recommend having links to the forums that deal with addiction and rehabilitation from this section. The resources in this area will be organized by the client’s administration area (most likely SmartSite).

Travel Log: $7500
The travel log will be the central communication area for users and friends (groups). Users can customize their travel log (i.e. tabs to click on). The travel log will a place where users post items, and friends and groups can comment and respond. The travel log can also tie into the world map showing areas traveled, where friends are located, and where prayers are being offered…etc.

Third Party Integration = $93000

In Concert: $5,000

The In Concert areas will most likely tie in a third party to offer streaming audio. The idea is to give users the ability to listen to specific genres of music from the space4faith website. Website’s like Pandora which offer “smart stations” would be a great tie in for this area of the website. Smart Stations remember user preferences and form playlists that are in line with the user’s preferred genre. We also envision the capability for users to buy music on line and offer “smart selling” that only displays users genre of music (this could tie into user homepage advertising) as well. I will only be guessing at costs on this partnership, but should be rather inexpensive.

Community Server: $50,000 ($20,000 cost, $30,000 for modifications)

  • Built-in Community Server applications (blogs, forums, photo, file, and media galleries, optimized control panel, groups, etc.)
  • Extensible platform can be scaled to support the most demanding social media communities like MySpace and Microsoft
  • Battle-tested platform is optimized for increased levels of load (see MySpace showcase)
  • Ability to stream video, rich media & video capabilities (see EA skate showcase)
  • No limit on the number of community members
  • Includes source code to the Community Server core
  • 3 Authentication Types(Windows AD, ASP.NET Forms, Cookies)
  • Designed to run in clustered Web server environments
  • Rich security & permissions model based on industry-leading best practices
  • Localization capability (see Microsoft SQL CAT showcase)
  • Flexible UI to maintain brand fidelity (see EA Dead Space showcase)
  • Simple user interface with theme-driven customization
  • Robust forums system that can additionally integrate with email discussion lists and news servers
  • Publishing system that can manage thousands of single and multi-user blogs (see MSNBC showcase)
  • Easy file and photo sharing integrated with forums and blogs
  • Robust user profiles, groups, messaging, and social streams
  • Content mirroring to enable content syndication and republishing (see Pregame.com showcase)
  • Integrated search across blogs, forums, photos, and files in one consistent UI
  • Powerful control panel with consistent tools for managing your community
  • Widgets, integrated ratings & comments, and discoverability of content (see Intel showcase)
  • Detailed community reporting & analysis, associating business intelligence

World Mapping API: $25,000

We will be tying in a third party mapping tool to identify where users have traveled, where their friends are located, and where prayer is happening within their network. This system will need to tie into our database, but probably use an outside call (URL) to show data. I know Google has some very robust systems, but I am worried about the “look and feel”. This will require some time and we can investigate it more once we get through the initial proposal stage. I will estimate costs on this item for the time being.

Gateway and Merchant Account Tie In: $13,000

DC Web Designers will tie in the ecommerce with a third party gateway and merchant account. This account would be run by space4faith. The tie ins would be in different areas of the site, and have different protocols based on the type of revenue (gifts, encouragement, advertising)

.

COSTS AND PROJECTED LAUNCH DATE:

  • Estimated Project Launch Date: 6 – 8 months
  • Estimated Project Cost: $261,000 (not including website hosting)

DC Web Designers Standard Practices

Graphic Design Standards:

  1. All web design mockups will be created using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Image Ready.
  2. All print design mockups will be created in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
  3. Web design mockups will be converted to a high quality (not high resolution) JPG format before presenting to the client. The JPG will be shown in a web browser.
  4. All web design mockups will be built at 72 dpi, the standard web resolution.
  5. All logos will be created at 72dpi, the standard web resolution.
  6. ****NOTE****

If you need your company logo or other images used in your website for print or high quality resolution purposes, additional costs will incur. Costs will vary based on the logo or image file provided to DC Web Designers.

  1. All requested mockup revisions must be in writing. A mockup revision can entail a variety of graphical changes, but must be able to be completed by DC Web Designers within a two (2) hour period. It is the responsibility of DC Web Designers to notify the client if they believe the revision will exceed two (2) hours. Additional time exceeding two (2) hours per mockup revision will be considered out of scope.

7.DC Web Designers will utilize stock photos for the design mockups. Any imagery or photos that the client would like to see or incorporate into the homepage or interior page designs must be delivered in the proper electronic format (.jpg, .gif, .psd), prior to design production. The client assumes all copyright responsibilities for images and content provided to DC Web Designers for web or print use.

8.The client will provide DCWD with creative direction on all elements of the project. A project initiation form must be filled out prior to DC Web Designers producing any graphical elements related to the project. All homepage content must be provided by the client prior to design production and will be considered final. Any content changes following the start of design production will be considered out of scope.

  1. All images utilized within the scope of the website production will be 72dpi. These images are sized and formatted for Internet use, not for print use. Clients can purchase high resolution images from DC Web Designers at market value. We recommend letting DC Web Designers know prior to the project initiation that print ready images will be needed for future use. DC Web Designers can then utilize high resolution images for the project.

Web Content Standards

  1. All website content provided by the client must be in HTML, or .DOC (Microsoft Word) format.
  2. All content provided by the client to be integrated into the website will be considered final. Any revisions will be considered out of scope.
  3. All web page content has a maximum character count (including spaces) of 4100. Clients can check their character count by pasting content into Microsoft Word, selecting Tools  Word Count.
