Best Man and Best woman Speech Questionnaire.

Please fill in as much of this questionnaire as you can, [saving it as you go along] and then either e-mail, or post it to the address at the foot.

All details given to us are kept in absolute confidence and are not passed on to any other party.

All our speeches are very sincere and contain all the necessary etiquette, therefore enabling you to correctly fulfil your duties.

The basic idea of this questionnaire is for you to give us enough personal information, so that we can write a speech which will look as if you have written it.

On a scale of one to ten, ten being the funniest; how amusing do you want the speech to be?

Name of Groom and also the name you would like to call him in the speech?

Are you related to the Groom or a friend?

If a friend, how long have you known him?

Where did you meet him?

How old is he please, approximately will do?

How old are you please?

Please give details about anything you wish to say about him. His abilities or lack of them in any field. Does he play sport, support Sculthorpe United, drink alcohol, gamble, drive badly. Is he untidy or does he have any bad habits? What does he do for a living? Do you have any stories that you would like to tell? We don’t advise mention of previous relationships, or too vulgar stories; they can go down like a lead balloon with a family audience.

If he is your brother, people love to hear anything naughty that he may have done as a child.

Don’t forget, if he’s a bit of a comedian, a few pertinent things may have been revealed about you in his speech. This is your chance for revenge.

Does he follow any music trends or watch any particular television programmes or films?

Will there be or has there been a Stag do and if so where?

You can mention a little that can be repeated about it if you wish.

Name of the Bride?

How long roughly have they been together?

Do you know where they met?

Do you know her well enough to say anything amusing about her and if so, what subjects would you like to mention? What does she do for a living?

Names of the Bridesmaids?

A married Bridesmaid is officially a Matron of Honour. Do you know if any are to be called Matrons of Honour?

Names of any Flower Girls, Ring Bearers or Pageboys?

[Optional, but nice to give them a mention].

Please could you let me know what each one’s role is?

Names of the hosts, traditionally the Bride’s parents but nowadays may be both sets, or even the couple themselves? Should be the names on the invitation. [If you are unsure, it would be better to thank the ‘Hosts’, rather than thank the wrong people].

Will there be a Toastmaster or Master of Ceremonies?

[This is only for the wording of the handover]

Date of the Wedding?

Are you married?

[This is only for the wording of some of the remarks]

If you are married, was the Groom your Best man?

If so, please could I have the first name of your wife and the year?

Thank you
