Thank you for your interest in potentially serving as a member of the Berthoud Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (BOD). This form will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee who will in turn create a slate of candidates for an election or to fill vacancies for BOD positions. Please note the BOD govern and operate utilizing the principles of Policy Governance as directed in the Berthoud Area Chamber of Commerce’s By-Laws.

Following are the guidelines used by the Nominating Committee:

Required: Nominees must be an employee or owner of an active chamber business, chamber business member in good standing for at least one year, be 21 years of age or older, be willing to commit up to a 3-year term, and sign a confidentiality non-disclosure agreement. Nominees being appointed to fill a vacancy on the board will complete the current calendar year. If they wish to serve on the board after that, they will need to be elected at the regular election in November. In addition, participation in at least two Chamber programs/events is expected of each board member. Examples of chamber programs and events include: Chamber Ambassadors, Business Luncheons, Business before Hours, Business after Hours, Speed Networking, Golf Tournament, Berthoud Day Committee, Oktoberfest Committee, Co-ed Softball Tournament Committee and Snowfest Committee. Board members are expected to attend the monthly business meetings on the first Tuesday morning of each month at 8 a.m. for one and one-half hours, and other meetings scheduled as necessary to conduct the business of the chamber.

Preferred: Minimum 1 year of active involvement as a Chamber member, an owner or representative for the business

Other: Maximum number of board members from a single organization is two. In selecting nominees, the primary consideration will be individuals and their potential contribution. Secondly, under-represented sectors of the business community will have higher consideration. The Chamber does not discriminate.
