WORKSHOPS FOR SPRING 2016

Financial Planning and Goal Setting; In this workshop participants will receive instructions, counseling and materials on all aspects of financial literacy and wealth building. Specific topics include but not limited to Cash Management; both savings accumulation and debt reduction, Risk Management, Wealth Management, Financial Independence/Retirement and Estate Transfer.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs): This workshop is designed to assist participants in becoming familiar and comfortable with responding to Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as they relate to job applications and announcements. KSAs are listed on vacancy announcements and require applicants to describe experience which demonstrates their possession of the respective KSAs.

Financing College Education:In this workshop participants will receive instructions, counseling and materials on all aspects of saving for college. Participants will learn various saving options; learn the benefits of 529 plans. College is an investment for a lifetime - the gift of a college education can open the door to a world of opportunity for your child or grandchild. Saving, even a little at a time, can make a big difference down the road. With the cost of a college education continuing to increase, the key is to start saving early and regularly.

Debt Management: In this workshop participants will receive instructions, counseling and materials on all aspects of financial plan to eliminate unsecured debt via debt reduction strategies as well as credit card and liability and asset management.

Resume Writing: This workshop is designed to introduce workshop participants to writing a professional resume. We will review resume styles and comprehensive contents of a resume. We will review types of resumes that get you to the interview and those that keep you from the interview.

Educating Your Children about Money: In this workshop participants will receive instructions, counseling and materials on all aspects of teaching your children about money and how financial literacy is an essential parental responsibility. The objective is to provide the parents with the necessary tools and lessons to help position their children to make smart money decisions that may pay off big over their lives.

Computer Literacy: (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point)Computer Literacy: Assist in developing your computer skills in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. Other topics may include: searching the internet, social networking sites uploading photos.

Social Media and Me: This workshop is designed to: Familiarize the beginners with Social media, its purpose, maintaining one’s privacy while using the Social Media accounts, monitoring accounts of under age children. You will experience how to set up, manage and navigate through Social Media accounts such as Face Book, Twitter, Skype, LinkedIN, etc.

Nutrition, Heart Health (Parent Workshop):The workshop begins with a brief explanation of the importance of a healthy heart regimen. Discussion about the various components of a healthy eating regiments and how it can be implemented on a daily basis to improve heart health and overall physical wellness. Demonstrations on how to properly analyze the nutrition facts label. Help participant's to understand what they are putting in their bodies and the direct link that has on their overall health. Participants will gain knowledge that will help assist them in being more efficient in the grocery store as well as in the kitchen which will result in them eating healthier on a daily basis. In the third section of the workshop the group will discuss nutrition and exercise, focusing mainly on how both nutrition and exercise are necessary to be healthier both inside and out. In the fourth section, the participants will be introduced and provided with a heart healthy cookbook, which they will be able to use to begin their transition to a more consistent healthy eating regimen.
