About Us

Tweed Byron and Ballina Community Transport (TBBCT) is a non-government, community-based organisation, serving the Tweed, Byron and Ballina Shires of Northern NSW, since 1987.

TBBCT keep people connected to their community and enhances lives by providing safe, friendly and affordable transport options.

We value integrity, respect, caring, person-centredness and inclusiveness.

About Our Clients

We provide transport for older people, people with a disability and others who are transport disadvantaged and cannot access conventional transport.

Driving for Community Transport

Our volunteer drivers drive TBBCT clients with safety and care from their home to and/or from their destination.

We have a fleet of modern vehicles, or you may be able to drive your own, if it is comprehensively insured.

You may be just what we are looking for if you have:

  • a current, valid and full drivers licence
  • great driving and navigation skills
  • excellent people skills and a positive attitude
  • reliability
  • sensitivity and respect for diversity and difference
  • reasonable health and fitness

Bus Volunteers

Our bus trips provide door-to-door, monthly social outings and fortnightly shopping and access trips. Our clients look forward to and thoroughly enjoy these trips. Bus volunteers assist clients on and off the bus and ensure their comfort and safety. They work as a team together with the bus driver.

There are two roles:

Social bus coordinator

This volunteer also organises social trips for their group, arranging destinations and passenger lists. They make sure everyone has a good time.

Shopping bus attendant

This volunteer also assists clients by carrying shopping bags to their door or inside. However, they do not assist with the shopping.

If you enjoy helping people and being part of a group and if you have good organisational skills and a reasonable degree of health and fitness, you might be a perfect fit for a bus volunteer role.
