2. / Apply for admission to Program in Higher Education / 1. Submit all materials by March 1 to be considered for an interview to begin course work in the summer or fall semesters.
2. Submit all materials by October 1 to be considered for an interview to begin course work in the spring semester.
a. / Submit program application; essay, vita or resume; three letters of reference.
Program Admission
1. / Faculty review of student file; invitation to interview / Admission to doctoral study in Higher Education, both the Ed.D. and Ph.D., is selective and restricted. Admission decisions are made by the faculty. Please review the doctoral profile located on our website to review program admission qualifications.
2. / Successfully complete interview / Interviews are scheduled individually or can be conducted by conference call.
Program Degree Plan
1. / Select major and minor professors and a degree committee. Complete Doctoral Advisory Committee Recommendation form and submit to program office. / Upon successful completion of interview, student will be assigned a major professor.
2. / Complete Doctoral Degree Plan and submit to program office. / Early in program and before qualifying exams. Preferably before the end of second semester of enrollment
3. / Student completes all course work listed on degree plan and meets tool subject requirements (PhD.) / Done prior to taking the written qualifying examination and making the oral defense
4. / Complete residency requirements / Two consecutive semesters of at least 9 semester hours each semester
