Line Up Cards

Below, please findthe key “need to know” items pertaining to line up cards:

  • The cards must be presented to the umpire who will keep the white copy for himself. He will return the pink copy to the team who completed the line up and the blue copy will be given to the opponent.
  • Players listed on the line up card must be present at the field when the card is presented to the umpire.
  • Both proper team names must be printed at the top as well as the date, location and division.
  • Names must be clearly printed with first initial and full last name. Nicknames will not be recognized. If the team has two players with identical last name and first initial, please expand the first name so that it is unique, otherwise credit for game played will not be given.
  • Uniform numbers must be included.
  • All players must be listed on the line up card in the order that they will bat.
  • The team rep must sign the bottom of the document.
  • Under no circumstances is the game to commence until the umpire has both line ups in his possession and has distributed copies to both teams indicating his approval. The umpire should initial all line up cards to signify his acceptance and approval that the card is completed in full.
  • If during the game, a player arrives, the umpire and opposing team should be advised. Late arriving players along with uniform number will be added to the bottom of the line up card by the umpire.
  • Following the completion of the game, the umpire will file the white copies in the bunker box within the league supplied "zip lock" bag. All teams should retain their copies in case the master copy is lost or is unreadable due to weather conditions.
  • Line up cards will be picked up weekly to ensure roster compliance and credit will be given to all players listed on the card.
  • Should a game not be completed, the umpire will mark the line up cards appropriately indicating the game was not official and no players will be credited with having participated in the game
  • In the event of a default, the non-defaulting team should provide the umpire with a line up card for inclusion within the league statistics. No games played credit will be given to the defaulting team.
  • The “F” Division does not use line up cards.
