A new version of WESS (Version 3.1.7) was released on Wednesday, 7 November.
Below is a brief description of the enhancements and improvements you will
find in this release. Also included are notes on the previous WESS 3.1.6
release.
Many of the items are suggestions and defects identified and reported by

WESS Release Notes
Version 3.1.7 - Release Data on Thursday, 8 Nov 2012
Enhancement
1. The Jasper report interface was upgraded to a new version. The customer
interface has been slightly modified, but the functionality remains the same.
The export options are now displayed in a drop-down menu instead ofindividualicons for the different formats.
2. Added a notification feature which will display when Jasper is undergoing
maintenance and customers select to access the Reports feature or Pre-formattedReports (artf121958).
3750 - Aviation Specific changes
Enhancement
1. The WESS system will be converting to a new user's workspace in an upcomingrelease. During the transition the Notification folder in your Workspace willnot be populated; however, e-mail notifications will still be transmitted. Once the transition is complete notifications will once again populate and beaccessible from your WESS workspace (artf61496).
DJRS - Dive/Jump Reporting Specific Changes
Enhancements
1. Modified the dive log rejection email to display the comments entered by theindividual rejecting the dive log to communicate the reason for the rejection (artf34208).
2. Removed the ability for unit levels to set DJRS profiles to be Jumpers/Divers.
Only those with profile creation ability will be able to designate DJRS profiles as either jumpers or divers (artf43179).
Bug Fixes
1. Corrected issue of dives showing in "Dives Pending Approving" with the approver shown as "awaiting approval from: unspecified" (artf62499).
2. Corrected issue of the "Complete" and "Delete" buttons not consistently
displaying for Draft reports (artf95085).

Enhancements
1. Modified the display and content of the “Select Subsystem” page. This
page now offers entry points and help content to assist customers in accessingthe correct workspace for legacy WESS mishap reporting (afloat, shore/ground,tactical, RODS, ordnance) as well as direct access points for the Dive/JumpReporting System (DJRS), WESS Aviation Mishap/Hazard Reporting System (WAMHRS)and the Motor Vehicle Report System (MVRS) and the Report feature to accesssafety data and generate preformatted reports (artf90563).
5102 – Consolidated Specific Changes
Enhancements
1. Changes were made to facilitate reporting of Marine Corps Combat Zone
events that impacted both Navy and Marine Corps reporting. Some changes were
Marine Corps specific and others apply to all events (artf38608). The followingchanges were made:
a. Bypassed display of pages associated with Safety Specialist for all
Marine Corps events. Entry of this section via the Navigation Tree wasalso modified to allow exit out of these screens without having toprovide entries.
b. Removed the Traffic Controls section for Navy and Marine Corps events.
c. For Navy and Marine Corps events, removed requirement of entry for:
Distance from duty station to mishap site
Street Name
Interstate Number
Route Designation
FRTP phase at time of mishap (Fleet Readiness Training Plan)
Wind direction
Wet bulb globe temperature
