Being rich - modals of obligation

1. Study these money idioms and do the activities with them.

2. Think of as many ways as possible to get rich quickly.

Look at the photos of these people. Do you know them? What type of reputation do they have? Do people admire them?

3. And when you are already wealthy, what are pros and cons of it?

4. Grammar.

a) Let's speak about modals of obligation and prohibition. Study this presentation.

b) Change these sentences from Present into Past and from Past into Present.

1)He had to work really hard in his twenties.

2)I mustn't touch anything in this room.

3)They don't have to get up early.

4)I think you should change your job.

5)She didn't need to wear a uniform.

c) Do the following exercises to practice grammar.

d) Read the following phrases and make the sentences about them using have to/ don't have to, must/mustn't and should/shouldn't.

5. Now let's try to become rich and set up our own business. What should we do to get success?

a) Complete these phrases with a suitable modal verb.

b) Complete the second sentence so it means the same as the first, using a suitable modal verb. More than one answer may be possible.

6. Listening.

a) Read these definitions of an entrepreneur.

b) Listen to the first part of a seminar and answer the questions. Who is it for? What is the topic?(Track 1)For young entrepreneurs. "How to get rich."

c) Listen to the rest of the seminar. What entrepreneurial qualities does the speaker mention?(Track 2)a bit mean, start early, not too extravagant, be confident, work hard, be ambitious

d) Listen again and complete the notes below.
