Rapid report design enhances reporting flexibility

“Building block” approach: Design your reports using simple building blocks. The most fundamental building block is the row format, which determines the description and source of data for each row in your reports, as well as for any calculations and totals. The second building block is the column layout, where you define the columns that will appear in your report, such as general ledger, worksheet, or calculation columns, and the appropriate periods to include. The third building block, the reporting tree, establishes the relationship between the various reporting units in your company, but it does so in such a way that sets the reporting structure apart from the chart of accounts. With one building block setup, organizations can print financial statements for each division or department.

Simply design your reports using a “building block” approach with columns, rows, and reporting tree layouts.

Reporting delivery systems get the right information into the right hands, right now

Drill down from FRx reports: Analyze financial reports on screen, and drill down directly from the financial report into the underlying Microsoft Business Solutions data for instant access to the answers you need. Hundreds of customers have identified this as the single-most valuable feature in their accounting system, and it is available exclusively through Microsoft Business Solutions and FRx Professional.

FRx Professional enables you to drill back to the originating transactions for the greatest level of detail you may need without leaving the report.

Remote drill downs: Even individuals who are not connected to Microsoft Business Solutions–Great Plains application can view the financial information underlying their FRx financial reports. Using the FRx Remote Drill Down Viewer, you can drill down to the supporting account detail behind your financial reports.

View reports three ways to get the information you need: Printer, screen or e-mail. Choose from three report destinations and use FRx reports for different purposes. Printed reports are useful for easy reference and distribution. Reports displayed on screen are easy to search for specific information, and enable you to drill down into the underlying data. And e-mailed reports allow for efficient distribution and can include account detail for further financial information support.

Web-based reports: FRx WebView is a financial portal that offers the publishing, storing and managing of FRx reports via the Web, providing both report administration and report viewing online via a Web browser. Access to FRx WebView can be specified, based on individual or group security settings, at the report folder, report and/or reporting unit level in order to provide a secure environment. You can view and print any report to which you have access, as well as drill down from summary information to transaction detail using only an HTML browser—no additional client software is needed. You can quickly and securely store FRx Financial Reporter reports in a centralized location on an intranet or the Internet.

Security: FRx Financial Reporter allows you to set security by Reporting Tree level to ensure information is access by only those users that have the defined permission granted to them.

XBRL support: FRx Financial Reporter allows you to create and publish XBRL 1.0 (Extensible Business Reporting Language) compliant reports. XBRL is a freely available electronic language for business reporting that is based on XML (Extensible Markup Language). It provides the business community a standards-based method to prepare, publish in a variety of formats, reliably extract, and automatically exchange business information. For example, public companies can submit XBRL information to EDGAR® Online, or private companies can send XBRL data to financial institutions (such as banks) that support XBRL.

Currency translation: The Currency Translator gives FRx Professional the ability to perform translations across multiple accounting systems (based on historical, spot or average rates). Host systems can store the currency translation rates. If no conversion rates are available, FRx Professional will store the rates that will be utilized in the report generation process. To simplify report creation a Currency Rate Maintenance Wizard guides you through setting up currency exchange rate tables and pulls this information directly from the general ledger. You can set up individual currency rate sets for each company within FRx Professional and the Monthly Rate Table supports month end and monthly average rates for currency translation calculation in FRx reports. FRx Currency Translator adheres to the requirements of GAAP (FASB52) and the new Euro triangulation accounting provisions.

Schedule reports for automatic delivery – anytime, anywhere

The FRx Report Server is designed to help financial professionals automate the production of reports that need to be run and distributed on a regular basis, and offers a scalable, high-speed production reporting environment. Reports can be scheduled to run overnight or during off-peak hours, so that generating and distributing large reports will have less of an impact on the organization’s server resources. You can also select when and how specific reports should be generated and distributed—via email or automatically on the Web. Sending reports to the FRx Report Server for processing and distribution enables you to continue on with other projects on the client machine, therefore increasing productivity. You can even access the FRx Report Server from your workstation, start, pause or stop the server, and cancel in process reports. You may also view the status of reports that are complete, running and scheduled to run.
