The lab instructions for each week’s assignments are included in the lab manual, which is found in the kit and on the course homepage; the pages of the lab manual are listed in the assignment directions. The associated lab worksheets to fill out and submit for each lab are located under the assessment requirement each week.

The lab assignments each week reinforce the course materials and give you a hands-on opportunity to work with chemistry concepts. Review the labs prior to the week they are due to assess necessary preparations for each coming week, as many labs require items that are not included in the lab kit, such as kitchen utensils, which will be listed in the lab manual.

Note that, in the various lab documents you are required to submit after completing the experiments, some activities require you to draw and graph your results within these documents. In these circumstances, it will be up to your facilitator as tohow he or she would like you to submit them. Your facilitatormay want you to print a copy of the lab report document and, after drawing or graphing the results, to scan the documents for submission. Other means could include the useof drawing tools in Microsoft® Word, Microsoft® PowerPoint® , and so on. Be sure to communicate with your facilitatoron the preferred method for submission.
