Beginning School Count System

The BEGINNING SCHOOL COUNT system is located on the District AS400 Computer

(CrossPointe Student system).

During the first few days of school each year, a count is taken of student membership on designated days. This count is used for various management functions throughout the school system. It will provide basic and ESE student head counts, along with projected student membership totals for each school. The system also contains summaries

of students within geographical area, as well as by Elementary and Secondary

counts within area. Finally, the summary screens also display district totals of students in membership at special schools.

The Beginning School Count entry panel is accessible by typing L361 into the panel. It is also available from the L300 menu.

To add a record for count day 1:

Type ‘1’ in the Day field. Press <Enter>.

Proceed by typing in the student counts in the appropriate grade levels for your school.

Also enter the exceptional counts and the drive by counts on the bottom of the panel. (If you do not understand what a drive by student is please contact Charlie Smith @ ext. 204 for more information.)

Press <Enter> when complete.

Note: A record may not be added with all zeroes in the counts.

To change a count:

Simply type over the count you wish to change. Press <Enter>.

If you wish to remove a count, simply space the count out. Press <Enter>.

Days 2 and 3:

Days 2 and 3 will operate exactly like day 1.

Note:

Designated days and times have been set-aside for the three count days. Counts may not be added or

changed unless it is during the designated day and time. Schools will be notified of the valid counts days and entry times. The L361 panel will be displayed as a view only panel on invalid days and times.
