2015 Spring Training Program

Start Date: Monday, March 16th

End Date: Thursday, May 28th

Spring Break: April 6th-10th

Cost to Participate:

-$100 for Tuesday/Thursday Training Only (for players who are participating in a school spring sport, and cannot make after school trainings on Mondays/Wednesdays)

-$125 for Monday-Thursday Training

*The cost to participate will help cover the cost of the trainers. Our Booster Club will be covering the rest!

Mondays: Strength Training at Iron-Core Fit (Totem Lake) with Willie Woods 3:00-4:00

Tuesdays: Skills Training at RHS with Todd Rubin 7:30-9:00

Wednesdays: Strength Training at the RAC with Sargent Mike 1:00-2:30

Thursdays: Skills Training at RHS with Todd Rubin 7:30-9:00

Spring Tournament Schedule:

-2 tournaments in April, 1 tournament in May

-Participation on Tuesdays/Thursdays would allow players to also participate in 2-3 tourneys based on Todd’s availability in Spring.

Trainer Bio’s:

Willie Woods

Willie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Z Health Movement Coach (R and I Phase), KBI CertifiedKettlebell Instructor and founder of IRON-CORE FiT. Willie provides an intense and dynamic approach to his training while maintaining a positive and fun atmosphere. With his experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and background in physical rehabilitation he incorporates functional movements and injury prevention as the framework for his workouts. Todd Rubin

Todd Rubin started teaching and coaching immediately after being a college athlete. His first basketball stop was at Seattle Prep as a head JV coach where his team went 19-1. The following three years he would be the head assistant on the Varsity team where he was in charge of the defense. In his first year in this position Prep won the state championship, followed by a state performance and a final four finish in his last year at Prep. During Rubin’s last year at Prep he also started doing personal basketball training where he has trained local professional players that have been successful in the NBA, D-League and European Leagues.

Following Seattle Prep Rubin became the head coach at Edmonds-Woodway HS. At EWHS Rubin took his team to the district playoffs each year while also developing a feeder program for 5th-8th graders. In the summer while at Edmonds, Todd was the head coach of the top AAU team at Eastside Basketball Club. His teams won 4 NCAA sanctioned tournaments including an Elite 8 finish at the top division of the Adidas 64 in Las Vegas which only two other teams from the state of Washington have ever done.

After seven years of teaching and coaching at the high school level, Rubin was hired as the assistant coach at Northwest University. In his first year he helped Northwest win its first league championship and earn an Elite 8 finish at the national tournament. He would stay at Northwest two more years and make the national tournament one more time and win 20 plus games in each season. At Northwest Rubin was in charge of the defense for two years and the offense for one year.

Rubin earned his master’s degree in Sports Administration and Kinesiology in 2012. In 2013 while coaching at Northwest, Rubin was contracted out for several projects by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Sargent Mike

Sargent Mike has been training high school, college, and professional athletes for over 25 years. He has headed the Seattle Pacific University Men’s and Women’s basketball off-season training for the last 5 years. He also directs Boot Camps that have been named the Best in Western Washington for two consecutive years. Sargent Mike is full of energy and enthusiasm that motivates athletes to be the best that they can be.
