Preventative Maintenance Plans 2018
The Laser Market are pleased to be able to offer service plans for Laser & IPL Systems in the UK through Beehive Solutions Ltd. Our team of dedicated and certified engineers have extensive service and maintenance experience and will ensure your system is operating to peak performance.
Why should you service your laser/IPL?
The price of laser / IPL systems can be equivalent to the cost of a luxury car and, like a car, needs to be serviced regularly to ensure that such a valuable business asset keep operating at peak efficiently.
Additionally, over recent years there has been a rise in the number of claims with in the industry made for improper clinical treatment, primarily as a result of increased advertising by “No Win - No Fee” companies, making it more important than ever that your equipment is working within manufacturers specifications and you are covered in this respect by having an annual service report.
The service and maintenance of a laser / IPL is a specialised trade, with improper servicing and maintenance having potentially massive implications to you, your business and your client.
Laser market Maintenance Packages are designed to be fair, transparent and represent very real cost savings for the client, compared with the cost of unplanned call-outs by those without the protection of a maintenance agreement.
Since the complexities of different laser / IPL systems varies so greatly between models, the price structure of our maintenance Packages are also system dependent, which avoids excessive prices for those clients operating lower spec’d systems.
In all cases, there is a choice between a “Service-only” agreement and a “Service and Call Out” agreement, but each includes a discount on standard call-out fees and a % discount on any parts.
NOTE:
Service agreements are in respect of the Laser/IPL system and inherently associated equipment such as Applicators and Laser-delivery Hand-pieces. They do not include Coolers, Suction devices or any other accessories.
Service Agreements
All Standard Service Agreements include:
5% No claims Discount accrued annually off following years’ agreement premium up to a maximum of 10%
A pre-booked preventative maintenance service visit
Unlimited telephone support
Engineer travel & subsistence expenses
In all cases, where an Engineer call out is requested but no fault is found (excluding routine service calls), the Discount Call-Out charge shall be payable by the client.
Please note: Discounts available for multiple contracts at same address and multiple contracts at different addresses.
What is included in a maintenance service Agreement
Our Service visits are designed to be comprehensive, giving you the reassurance that your laser/ IPL system is working at peak performance.
Power Measurements:
It is important for an engineer to check the calibration periodically to identify any gradual variation of output that might occur over time.
Optics:
Lasers & UPL’s incorporate mirrors that reflect the laser beams and glass optics to focus the energy beam. These mirrors and optics can get dusty over time which may result in the drop off in the power of the system and cause low-power errors. In addition, the energy beam may cause that dust collection to become burnt onto the mirror or optics which would then need replacing. Routine cleaning of these mirrors, lenses and optics will help prevent this from happening and reducing the need for expensive call-outs and replacement parts. Likewise, the engineer will clean and, replace if needed, the various dust filters built in to the system.
Beam Alignment
Beam alignment is a must anytime there has been adjustment to the mirrors or lens, or if the system has received any knocks. This is a specialist and very precise task and if not done correctly can costs thousands in repair costs.
Safety
Earthing, fuses and circuit breakers are essential safety features built in to every laser/IPL system for the protection of you, your staff and your patients. Likewise, it is essential that the “Emergency Stop” button, prominent on every system, is fully functional.
A number of other preventative safety checks need to be performed including checking the water flow, as insufficient water levels may results in water pump failure and overheating of the machine which in turn could lead to damage of internal components. The cooling fan also needs to be checked and cleaned to ensure it is running at the correct speed for optimum performance.
Hand-piece and Applicators
The complexity of hand-pieces and Applicators depend on the system being serviced, and so need varying degrees of maintenance, but in general any lenses need cleaning, to avoid any dirt or debris that can build up and damage the lens and the structural integrity needs to be checked.
Glasses
Laser safety glasses are vitally important and need regular checks to ensure they fit correctly and do not have scratches which would reduce their effectiveness.
What is not included in a maintenance service Agreement
In a similar fashion to Warranty agreements, accidental damage to the system, fibers, Cables, hand-pieces and applicators is not covered by our service agreement, nor damage as a result of operating the equipment outside of normal treatment parameters or in a method not prescribed with in the equipment literature.
Deliberate misuse, and damage caused by fire, theft flood or ‘acts-of-God’ are likewise excluded, as is damage as a result of moving the laser to a new location. (Always have a laser engineer relocate your system so that it can be calibrated and aligned after the move).
Additional Items:
Service Agreements are also available for accessory items such as; Cooler units, Suction systems and Treatment Couches.
For Cold-air Coolers, manufacturers recommend a service every 18months which includes Cleaning of the internal components and checking/adjusting correct operation of compressor, refrigerant level, fans and electronics ensures reliable and efficient running
Since these agreements are items dependent, please contact us for a quotation.
Call out charges for cooler repair / service start at £350 + Parts
