Course Objective:

This course is designed to develop the skills to become a Master Student. Topics include study techniques, orientation to higher education and resources, life skills, career planning, and personal development.

Course Expectations:

The foundation of this course will center on the values of class participation and individual ingenuity. Both of these values will be observed and measured by your ability to produce a positive and constructive learning environment for your classmates and yourself. Hence, the key is to maintain active responsibility for the management of your learning experience and that of your classmates.

Group Project

This class is divided into groups with each group responsible for the participation of all its members. Each group will be responsible for selecting one of the Power Processes from the textbook and presenting this process to the class. The group can use a variety of ways to present the information. Each group member will receive the Group Grade. This grade is the average of all the individual grades. Group members who do not participate will have a negative effect on the total group grade and process. This project will be due on the last day of class.

Course Policies:

  1. Attendance of all class sessions is required.
  2. Side conversations are not permitted. Turn phones to OFF or SILENT.
  3. Be in class ON TIME. No late assignments are accepted for point credit. Exception: 2 Late Passes
  4. Your grade will be based on the total points achieved on the activities you choose to complete.
  5. If you drop this course at any time during the semester, it is your responsibility to officially withdraw.
