8. HIGHWAY ISSUES

(i) GERRARDS GREEN – BUS SERVICE

Members will recall that this issue was first considered by the Town Council on 2nd February 2015 at

which it was RESOLVED to support the request for the introduction of a single yellow line restriction.

However following that meeting the Council received correspondence from a number of residents

concerned at the effect the restriction might have on parking in an area where parking was at a

premium. Following a letter drop to all properties in Gerrards Green and meetings with

representatives from Damory, Magna Housing Association and residents there would appear to

be no significant improvement, therefore members are asked to PROCEED with the request for the

introduction of a single yellow line restriction between the hours of 8.00am and 6.15pm Monday to

Saturday (as per attached schedule).

(ii) PROGRESS ON HIGHWAY ISSUES REPORTED TO DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL

·  St Mary Well Street river bridge – the broken post and rail fence would be repaired by highway authority and a leaking foul sewer has been reported to Wessex Water

·  Prout Bridge – ownership still unresolved. Discussions due to take place to consider ways of preventing HGV’s from striking the railings

·  Hackthorn Hill – protruding tree on the verge to be dealt with by highway authority
