JOB DESCRIPTION

Post:Project Coordinator:the position will be until 31stMarch 2019with possible extension subject to funding.

Location:Poleglass Community Association @ Sally Gardens

Hours:37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly to suit demand as set out by the Director. Evening commitment will be necessary for the successful achievement of the post’s objectives.

Salary Scale:Points 32-34 £28,485 to £30,135

Responsible for: The coordination and implementation of BYF project outcomes.

Job purposeThe project coordinator will provide pathways to employment/training working closely with employers/training to source relevant access to jobs/training. Considering links already exist with a diverse range of employers the coordinator will reaffirm those links to ensure sector specific training matches employment/training gaps.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To co-ordinate the publicity strategy developed for the BYF Project.
  • To co-ordinate the recruitment and selection of participants for the BYF Project.
  • To undertake the co-ordination of monitoring information as set by the Director.
  • The coordinator will ensure client CVs are circulated to relevant sectors based on skills match and interests of clients.
  • The coordinator will effectively manage caseload and provide professional focused advice referring to other agencies/organisations as required as part of participant action plans.
  • To provide regular progress reports as required.
  • To undertake all other duties deemed necessary by the management of the BYF Project.
  • To evaluate effectively all training and development interventions with a view to providing feedback to the supervisory group.
  • To undertake the day to day co-ordination of BYF Project by interpreting and implementing the policy / practice and decisions taken by the Director.
  • Work at all times within the wording and spirit of the policies and procedures set out in the Staff Handbook.

Other duties

  • To carry out such duties, as may be assigned by the Director within the level of the post.

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge and experience of Employability based programmes
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Ability to work flexible hours

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Have completed a recognised professional Level 4 Qualification or above in coaching or mentoring, counselling, advice and guidance.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role targeting unemployed clients with the primary aim of progression to employment/training.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ line management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in working at neighbourhood renewal level with long-term unemployed, economically inactive and workless people and those who experience labour market disadvantage.
  • Establish and maintain effective referral to placement organisations, departments and agencies appropriate to the clients need.
  • Experience of organising and leadingmulti-stakeholder collaborative employability themed networks.
  • Full driving license with right to drive in UK with access to a car and business insurance (Applications will be considered from applicants with a disability who can otherwise demonstrate how they can meet the mobility requirements).
  • Minimum 5 GCSE at grade C or above to include English & Maths or equivalent.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Must have achieved a third level qualification (Degree and above).
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (Employment Legislation, Disability Discrimination Act, Race Relations, Data Protection etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering programmes such as European Social Fund.

Desirable criteria may be used to shortlist applicants, should there be a need to facilitate manageable shortlists
