BBC One’s Songs of Praise invites you to our September recording in Cheltenham!
Dear John Holloway,
We would like to extend a warm invite to you and the members of Tewkesbury and District Choral Society to join us for two recordings of hymn singing as part of a massed choir at All Saints’ Church, Pittville, Cheltenham.
These will be recorded for BBC One’s Songs of Praise and will be broadcast in future editions of the programme. The musical director will be David Ogden, who has conducted numerous choirs for broadcasts on BBC Radios 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, as well as for the BBC Two series The Choir: Sing While You Work and Songs of Praise. He is well known to singers in Cheltenham, having directed the choirs and orchestra for the ‘Big Sing’ in Cheltenham Town Hall in April this year.
Here’s what we’d like you and the members of your choir to attend:
Rehearsal for members of the ‘combined choir’ is on Thursday 22nd September, 7.15pm – 9.15 pm (this rehearsal is for both recordings).
Songs of Praise Recording 1 | Friday 23rd September, 7.00pm – 10.00pm
Songs of Praise Recording 2 | Saturday 24th September, 2.30pm – 5.30pm
