Banned Book Presentation

Directions: In an interesting, creative, and informative presentation, you will:

1.  Teach your classmates about the controversy surrounding your book.

2.  Make a convincing argument against your novel’s censorship.

Choose your presentation method:

a.  Use Google slides or Prezi - go to www.prezi.com and create a free student account.

b.  Film a public service announcement endorsing the merit of your book.

Your presentation should be no more than 5 minutes long.

Note: If there are two students reading the same novel, you will present together, but you will have an added component. Create a propaganda poster against your novel’s censorship. Poster must include: book title and author name, interesting visual, and three forms of propaganda.

Your presentation must include:

·  Title and author of the book

·  A 3-sentence summary of the plot (no more, no less)

·  Interesting visuals, music and/or video clips (30-45 seconds only per clip)

·  Best/favorite part and why

·  Your argument why the book should not be censored written in a clear thesis statement.

·  2 quotes from the book and 2 quotes from LRC sources to support your position.

·  The history of the controversy surrounding your book using 2 credible sources

·  MLA Works Cited page

Please do NOT organize your presentation following the order of those bullet points. You must decide what is the most effective way to organize your presentation.
