Dear Band Parents/Guardians,

The last week of 8am morning rehearsals will be May 9th-13th. In-school lessons will continue, so students should still bring instruments to school on regular band days in addition to these special days. All students will perform in two in-school assemblies for peers on May 17th and 19th and will be bussed between Pennell and Parkside. All students will play in both assemblies. B Band students will have a 7pm concert at Sun Valley High School on Tuesday, May 24th. A Band students will be bussed to Sun Valley High School during the morning of Thursday, May 26th. Then, A Band students will have a 7pm concert at 7pm on that same night. Below, please find the schedule broken down by band membership:

What to wear:For in-school assemblies, wear normal school clothes. Students do not have to wear the Penn-Delco music T-shirt.

For evening concerts at Sun Valley HS, wear white on top, black on bottom. Try to wear dress close or nice clothes. Boys can wear something like a white buttoned-down shirt or polo with black trousers. Girls can wear a white blouse with black slacks, skirt, or dress. The skirt must reach past the knee when sitting down. Any student inappropriately dressed will be asked to change before performing on the stage. Short sleeved-shirts are okay. Avoid cologne and perfume as that makes breathing difficult under the hot stage lights.

When to be there: For in-school assemblies, students arrive as they normally would for school. Remember, there will be no 8am morning rehearsals from May 16th through the end of the school year. Busses leave just after 9am, so it’s important to be on time fro school.

For evening concerts, students should arrive at Sun Valley High School at 6pm.

Where to be: For in-school assemblies, students just need to arrive to their home school by the starting bell. Depending on assembly or rehearsal location, students will then be bussed to the other building.

For evening concerts, students should enter Sun Valley High School through the front door and turn left to go to the cafeteria. They will be under my supervision once they get to the cafeteria.

What to bring: Everything, for everything! Bring instruments, folders, books, pencils, extra reeds, valve oil, and any other instrument accessories.

Contact me for any questions or thoughts!

Sincerely,

Nick Pignataro
