Weekly practice record

or

Will audition for NW Regional groups (audition date is January 28, 2017 at Coconino HS. Audition fee is $20)

A note on Spit.

All band students are expected to carry in their case a washcloth type rag for the spit/saliva involved with the playing of their horn. This is not limited to brass players. If/when a student needs to clear their horn of liquids (spit) they must do so on this rag rather than the carpeting/or any floor. The carpet has been cleaned over the summer and we are starting with a “spit free” floor. The rag can be kept in the case in a baggie and periodically washed. Students who relieve their horn of liquids on the floor without the rag will be given detention.

A Note on instrument storage.

Students are responsible for practice on a weekly basis; instruments must go home over the weekend.

A note on mouthpiece pulling.

Brass players have the misfortune at time to get their mouthpiece stuck. All brass players will be instructed in the proper use of their mouthpiece. In the event a mouthpiece gets stuck, the first “pull” or removal is free. Thereafter removal of a stuck mouthpiece will be $5.00. Arizona Music Pro is also available on weekends to pull stuck mouthpieces; their charge is approx. $12.00. Students with mouthpiece issues may come in after school for help, not during class.
