Bachmann electronic expanding its expertise

Incorporation of µ-Sen GmbH boosts growth in the wind power sector

The takeover of all company shares of µ-Sen GmbH in Rudolstadt (state of Thuringia) has enabled Bachmann electronic GmbH to integrate the monitoring and early detection of possible damage to wind power plants in its range of products and services.

The increasing complexity and continuously high output requirements of wind power plants also increases the need for innovative diagnostic and monitoring systems (condition monitoring systems). The early detection of faults, particularly with offshore wind power plants will become an effective and increasingly more important measure for cost optimization.

Sensor know-how from µ-Sen

Since its founding twelve years ago, µ-Sen has specialized in the development of vibration sensors. Since 2001 the team of currently 38 employees has manufactured and supplied system solutions for the early detection of faults on wind power plants. At present around 1000 systems are monitored worldwide with the µ-Sen vendor neutral measuring system. Besides the certified product and system solutions for condition monitoring, the µ-Sen team also offers a service for permanent monitoring via the Internet. Diagnostic functions such as rotor blade and structure monitoring, as well as the creation of vibration reports, round off the Rudolstadt team's range of services.

Customerbenefits

“The linking of condition monitoring systems with the PLC offers a clear added value for customers,” assures µ-Sen CEO, Dr. Steffen Biehl. For Bernhard Zangerl, CEO at Bachmann electronic, this strategic expansion of products and services “sets the course for future success in the next few years.”
