Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity in the Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV for an Assistant Practice Support Analyst.

The Assistant Practice Support Analyst will report to the Chief Practice Officers (CPOs) and will work closely with the Practice Support Analyst and the Finance Department to provide financial reporting and analytical support to the CPO’s, Business Unit Leaders (BUL) and Practice Group Leaders (PGLs).

Responsibilities:

Development and maintenance of the Practice-Related Financial Reports:

·  Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports for use by the CPOs, BULs and PGLs including:

o  Practice Group, Business Unit and individual partner metrics (e.g., utilization, matter value, cash receipts)

o  Inventory reports and analysis

o  Profitability

·  Assist in creating materials for Business Unit and Practice Group meetings and retreats.

·  Assist in preparing day-to-day ad hoc reports.

·  Identify and work with the Reports Group to revise or develop new reports when needed to support changing/evolving business goals and initiatives.

Development and Maintenance of Inventory Management Reports

·  Assist with inventory management, including billing and collections analyses and detailed tracking during the quarterly and year-end collections billing and pushes.

·  Assist in communications with Billing & Collections attorneys during quarterly and year-end billing and collections pushes.

·  Respond to day-to-day ad hoc requests for inventory information.

Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred or equivalent work experience.

·  1-2 years working knowledge of a professional services firm, law firm background a plus.

·  Excellent project management, prioritization and organizational skills.

·  Demonstrated ability to be discreet and treat confidential information appropriately.

·  Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and solve problems.

·  Ability to analyze and synthesize data pertaining to finances, metrics and workflow.

·  Ability to compile, review and determine logical conclusions or recommendations based on data which is varied in content and format.

·  Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology, database, presentation and spreadsheet software at an advanced level.

·  Ability to adhere to the highest level of accuracy when generating reports.

·  Excellent oral and business writing communication skills.

·  Excellent interpersonal skills, can work effectively with people at all professional levels in a multi-office environment.
