ACTION POINTS:

a)Jan is to reorganize the boat schedule to meet the needs of all the Cluster members.

b)Gerry is to continue the follow up on the barge that is stuck in Mutarara.

c)Sandra(INGC) to continue the follow up on the priority ferry crossing of the relief trucks.

d)Sandra(INGC) to submit CMR for cargo from Maganja de lacosta to several destinations.

1.AIROPS (Helicopters).(Sandra Legg)

9 flights of 21 tons of cargo transported.

-6 flights to Canga with food for WFP.

-1 to Mutara with NFIs on behalf ofUnicef.

-1, Caia-Fefe WFP food.

-1, Tambara-Fefe with WFP food.

Fuel did arrive but 4 trips were still cancelled.

-1 chopper is leaving since it’s been contracted for the response in Madagascar. 2 choppers will stay till next week and after, 1 will probably stay till the end of March.

Tomorrow’s operations are as per the distributed proposed flight plan.

2.BOATS.(Jan Gerritse). Jan went on a trip to Marromeu to look at alternatives for the transportation of the 100MT of WFP food.

-He negotiated the use of a 60MT boat that belongs to a company called Sena up to Sunday,2/3. This will now transport WFP food to Chinde which had become a priority. The Cluster boat fleet will be put at the disposal of the other Cluster members.

-Kits for Concern, 26MT will be transported by trucks from Quelimane to Marromeu on time to be loaded on the 30MT ton boat from Caia for the trip to Chinde.

-INGC has 2 boats, 1MT each which could be used by the Cluster when necessary.

Tomorrow

- All boats are expected back to Caia.

3. TRUCKS. (Leon Claessen)

-3 trucks were loading the choppers with destinations to Canga, Mutarara, Fefe etc.

-One of the small trucks will leave on Friday for refueling in Beira to be back on Saturday, the next day.

For tomorrow:All trucks that went to the field are expected back to Caia. 3 trucks will be loading the choppers.

4.WAREHOUSING. (Robert Sanchez)

-Thomas will visit the warehouses to enable him have an overview of how they are managed.

-CMR tracking sheet was distributed as usual.

Miscellaneous:

-Rogier Berriaux (UNHAS) will leave tomorrow for an assignment in Madagascar. His replacement is been sought.

-Jean Massaoudi (Red Cross) leaves tomorrow as well.
