Croston, Nr Southport Meet, 15th – 22nd October 2018.

The Royal Umpire Caravan Park, Southport Road, Croston, Lancashire PR26 9JB is a level site set well back from the road providing a peaceful setting, approximately 12 miles inland from the genteel seaside resort of Southport. It is a full facility site, our site fee being £14 per unit per night including electric hook-up and hardstanding.

This site is ideally situated to enjoy an autumn rally. All weather attractions are available throughout Lancashire, and the cities of Manchester, Liverpool and Preston are easily reachable either by car or public transport. With the added bonus of the Blackpool Illuminations within an hours drive, every day and night can be filled with entertainment if desired.

In addition, the following locations are of interest:

Croston - picturesque village offering a selection of pubs /restaurants, village shop, interesting church and variety of walks.

Southport – a mix of Victorian and modern shops and a market, expansive sandy beach, botanical garden and home to the British Lawn Mower Museum. Huge variety of eating establishments. Restored pier over one mile long.

Leyland – large town with variety of supermarkets. Home of the famous Leyland Motors (DAF Trucks still manufactured here). British Commercial Vehicle Museum well worth a visit. Award winning Park with dog walks, and miniature railway.

Preston – granted city status in 2000, offers full retail experience. Museum and Art Gallery worth a visit. Extensive parks including riverside walks.

Lytham and St Annes – beautiful coastal walks, elegant Victorian /Georgian shops, a variety of high class restaurants.

Blackpool - Britain’s largest seaside resort, dominated by 518 ft Blackpool Tower. Winter Gardens and Opera House offer entertainment, famous tramways offers coastal journey to Fleetwood. Illuminations on during stay.

Trough of Bowland – Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers a full day tour of beautiful rolling countryside, moorlands and villages.

Rufford Old Hall (NT) – fascinating Tudor property containing 500 years of history. Victorian style garden and grounds adjacent to Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
