AVID Grade 9 Summer Assignment
Hello! Welcome to the AVID program! We are very excited for this upcoming year. Your teachers would like to get to know you a little bit better before the year starts. To prepare, we have crafted a small summer assignment….don’t worry….it’s FUN! :)
The overall goal is to create a mini-poster (8.5 X 11 In.) describing you. As you enter high school, senior year may seem very far or just the blink of an eye away, but we promise you this is a time where you will grow. Before you head to college, you will think back to the person who entered high school and just how far you’ve come and as your teachers, we have committed to going on that journey with you.
Must include the following:
Images (Decorate and be CREATIVE!), Descriptions, and a clear title with your name.
You must choose 3 topics from the list below to discuss in your poster:
What are some goals you would like to accomplish during the next 4 years in high school?
What do you want to be when you grow up? What is your ideal job?
What is your Favorite Subject? Why?
Who is someone you admire/respect or look up to? Why?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?
You must choose 2 topics from the list below to discuss in your poster:
Favorite Subject
Favorite Family Photo (Why is this so special to you?)
Favorite Song/Lyric or Album (What song describes your life story?)
Favorite Sport/Activity or Hobby (What do you dedicate your free time to?)
Favorite Past time/Childhood Memory
Favorite Movie/TV Show
