Announcing the Second Annual Immersion Event at Genesee County Village on November 2nd, 3rd and 4th!

Authors note: Last year’s event was cold, hard work and Fun.

We are looking for fellow living historians that want to experience life in a small village of the South in November 1862. The correct look, language and a willingness to takeon a role are required. Each person will pick a role and create a small story of their life up until that time. This will be shared with other participants on a Yahoo group, so we all know something about each other. Additionally, each person will receive a goal to achieve during the weekend.

We offer at a minimum, a piece of floor to lay your mattress tick on in an 1800’s structure, food for the weekend, interaction with other participants, and participation in period entertainment for Saturday evening. There will be military present, engaging in a tactical, separate from civilian life.

The second sheet contains a list of Roles. Please indicate which roles you are interested by filling out the 1st or 2nd choice lines at the top. Other role suggestions submitted are welcome, but at the discretion of the committee to approve.

A picture of applicant in clothing intended to wear in November is required. Previous attendees do not have to submit a picture if their wardrobe has not changed.

Remember that in November, warm clothing and bedding will be needed. The temperature could range from 20 degrees to possibly 70 degrees. We will be occupying buildings, but heating is generally by fireplaces and stoves. Also the bathroom(s) are a distance away from the buildings.

The number of participants is limited to 50, at this time. The number of possible participants may decrease with circumstances.

Your arrival is expected on Friday Nov 2nd between 4 PM and 8 PM and the event ends on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
