Support your club through WorkplaceGiving

Workplace giving is a simple and tax-effective way for you to support your favourite Maccabi Victoria club by making regular donations to Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation through automated payroll deductions. Giving this way means you get the immediate tax deduction benefits and you don't need to collect receipts throughout the year. It's such an easy way to give!

By donating to Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation (MVSF) through your payroll, the Government allows the immediate refund of the tax that you would otherwise have paid.You don’t even need to keep a receipt as all the paperwork is taken care of by your employer and by MVSF.

What are the advantages?

Workplace Giving is a win, win, win situation.

Your nominated club will receive a steady stream of income enabling them to build up funds for a host of purposes such as purchase of new equipment or uniforms, skills & development clinics, and scholarships & fee support for disadvantaged players.

For Employees

  • A Workplace Giving Program allows you to make smaller donations spread over the year (though one-off donations can be made too).
  • Donations are taken care of by your employer eliminating the need to arrange cash or cheques or set up direct debits. The method is cost-effective so it costs less to give more. Your employer should give you a summary of your donations at the end of the financial year.
  • The donations are made from pre-tax salary which means you receive the tax benefit immediately and there is no need to request receipts or substantiate the donations for tax purposes later.
  • The system is easy to opt in and out of, giving you full control over your giving.
  • Each donation made is actually larger than the cost of giving as it comes out of pre-tax income.

The following table shows what a $5, $10, or $18 donation will cost you based on your gross income (the figures below will vary due to tax office rounding).

For example, if you give $10 per pay period and you earn between $37,001 and $80,000 (gross income), your donation will only cost you $6.75. Remember the club receives the full $10.

Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation (ABN 54 696 419 567) is an endorsed DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) and is able to receive donations on behalf of the club.

Workplace Giving funds are not used for administration - every dollar is utilised for club projects.

How do I start?

  1. Speak to your management/payroll team about adding Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation to your existing list of charities, or ask payroll to set a program up. We have prepared a document, “Workplace Giving employer info”, for your employer that provides information about setting up a Workplace Giving program and/or adding Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation to your organisation’s program.

2.Complete the Workplace Giving registration form and nominate your chosen amount to donate each pay from your pre-tax salary, and which club you wish to support. If you do not wish to specify a club, donations will go into a general pool to support all Maccabi Victoria Clubs.

3.Give your form to your Payroll Manager to complete and send back to Viv Bayer / Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation, 1/176 Bambra Road Caulfield South VIC 3162.
