Volume 20, Issue 2 February 2012

FROM THE

PRESIDENT’S DESK

Water Plant Work Complete:

Work has been completed on rebuilding the four water softeners. We should no longer be plagued with the discoloration of the water. As I reported at the Board Meeting, the cost of these repairs totaled $10,800.

After careful testing, it was determined the charcoal filters were not damaged and are working well. Keep in mind there charcoal filters should last probably through the summer and then will need to be changed.

Bids on New Building:

At the Board Meeting, it was suggested we should solicit more bids for the new building. The Building Committee has done that and other bids are expected shortly.

New Board Member

The Board of Directors appointed Carole Morin to the Board to replace Al Doh who resigned on January 16, 2012. A very special thanks to Al for his work as Finance Director.

Volunteers for Pool Cover:

As I reported last month, we now have the new solar cover for the swimming pool. Thank you to the volunteers who came forward. Many hands make light work and we could use a few more volunteers. You can sign up on the blank calendar in the Clubhouse.

Meeting Dates Reminders:

General Meeting:

The General Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 2nd at 7:00 pm in the Clubhouse. Please bring your copy of the budget and the amendment changes. Also, please be sure to save them so you can refer to them when you vote.

Annual Meeting:

The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Clubhouse. The Meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm. It will then be adjourned for 30 minutes to give anyone who has not voted time to do so. At 7:00 pm the Annual Meeting will be called to order and the vote count will start. We will be in session until the count is complete and we have the results.

Please be sure to add both dates to your calendar.

Please Vote

As a reminder, the ballots for our budget, amendment changes and Board Members will soon be mailed out. Please vote as soon as you receive it and return it back by the March 1st mail delivery.

Reminder: Your signature on the large return envelope is critical to your vote being counted. If there is no signature, the vote will not be counted.

Election Committee Needed:

We are in need of an Election Committee. They will be responsible for signing in anyone who will vote on March 1st. They will be responsible for opening and counting the ballots. The Committee must be made up of Shareholders only, and no Board Member, Candidate or spouses. Please contact Tobie Hirshorn, Secretary, 594.8193 to give her your name for the Committee.

Board Meeting for February:

The Board Meeting will be held on February 16, 2012, at 7:00 PM in the Clubhouse.

OBSERVATIONS FROM THE OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Being the Operations Director for Tropical Breeze Estates for the past year, I’ve made some observations. First and foremost, my responsibility is making sure all residents know and abide by all the rules and regulations of our great community. We are all senior citizens with the goal to live our remaining years in peace and harmony with all our friends and neighbors. As of late, I have received numerous complaints for very minor infractions of our Bylaws. I do deal with these complaints and discuss them with the person being complained about, but I feel that if we all can communicate with our neighbors on a peaceful and friendly basis, life would be friendlier for all. We have more and more new residents moving into our community. Let’s all show them how friendly and helpful their neighbors can be by welcoming them to Tropical Breeze Estates.

As I stated above, it is the responsibility of all residents to know and live by the rules of our community. If you’re not sure about our regulations, please do not hesitate to contact me regarding your concerns.

A reminder to all residents: if you intend to rent your home or have guests, they must be registered with our office. This is for your safety and all the residents of Tropical Breeze Estates.

Remember it takes less effort to smile than to not. It also keeps your blood pressure down.

Enjoy our beautiful weather here in South Florida.

Notes from the Library

I would like to thank John Cyrilla and Leon Chalifoux for building new shelves in the Library. This until will have a multipurpose function. It will house the VSR and CD section for Movie time as well as a variety of games and magazines. To better serve the residents of TBE, the Library now has French books. If it is your desire to share books in other languages (Spanish, German, Italian and others), I will make room for them. The original back shelves are reserved for English books as well as a puzzle section. The big white armoire will now be used for additional storage for the kitchen and/or activities. Many residents have brought in large print books which are now available for your reading pleasure. Thank you for keeping the Library active by your participation, your book donations and being a book reader.

Lisa Chalifoux

Librarian

Thank you from the TBE Employees

We wish to thank the residents of TBE who made very generous donations to us this year. It lifts our spirits to know that so many of you appreciate the work we do for the community. We wish each of you a Happy Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
