Winter Sports
Attention Athletes interested in Soccer, Basketball and Wrestling! If you are not currently playing a Fall Sport, please stop by the Athletics Office to pick up an information sheet on how to get cleared for these winter sports. Completed packets need to be turned in right after Fall Break. Practices and Tryouts begin on October 31st. You must be cleared BEFORE THEN – not the day those sports start!! Those athletes now playing a fall sport can get moved to a winter sport once your season is over, all equipment has been turned in, and your current coach has returned your emergency consent form to me.
Volleyball
Last night your Volleyball teams traveled to take on the Goon Valley Rockets and as usual they killed it. The freshman team started off the night with a great teamwork and perseverance. Then the JV team crushed the Rockets in 2 sets straight. As for your Varsity squad, the girls came out on fire as they worked as a team to remain undefeated. The varsity team is now 10-0 and are anxious for the big games they have coming up. Good job Lady Demons.
Girls Basketball
Attention any girl interested in playing basketball who is not in a fall sport, Open Gyms will be held every Tues/Thurs, 5:30-7 in the practice gym starting this Thursday, Sept 29. Please see Coach Fowler in room J110 for your out of season consent form. You must have this filled out in order to participate. See you Thursday!
Swim
Another week, another Demons Swim team win.
Last night both the boys and girls swim teams had dominating victories over the Washington Rams and the Dysart Demons. The boys dominated throughout the entire meet winning with a score of 151-119-30. Demons that shined throughout the win include: Senior Stefan Hartsell in the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke, Senior Nathan Johnson in the 200 and 500 Freestyle, and Freshman Asher Stemmons who flies through the water in his 100 Butterfly. Like always, our boys did great in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay and the 400 Freestyle relay. Senior Diver Chase Howard also had a great performance accounting for a good amount of points in the win. The Girls swim team bounced back very strong crushing the competition with a score of 163-84-46. Our girls did outstanding winning first place in every single event of the night. Senior Ashley Gardner swam very well coming first in the 200 Freestyle. Other great performances were given by Junior Zaydee Stemmons in the 500 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke, Junior Diana Petrosyan in the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle, and Junior Sydnee Kaleta in the 100 Breaststroke. The Relays also did great splashing the competition out of the water. Great Job Demon Swim.
