ATTENTION 4th GRADE PARENTS!
It is time for our 4thGrade Program, “Veterans Day Tribute Program,” and we need your help! The information is as follows:
Date: Thursday, November 10, 2016
Time: 9:00am - For the school grade levels
6:00pm - For the Parents
Location: Timber Creek Elementary Cafeteria
Dress: Blue jeans and a patriotic shirt - orred, white, or DARK blue shirt
PLEASE INVITE VETERANS TO COME TO OUR PROGRAM at 6pm,
SO WE CAN HONOR ALL THEY HAVE DONE FOR US!
Every child has an important role in this program and they have been working so hard. We need your help in getting them the appropriate attire.
Next, the attached sheet is an essay contest. I would like to invite the 4th grade students to participate in this if at all possible. The winning Freedom essay will get to read their essay during the program. The deadline for turning them in is Friday, October 7th.
Lastly, we will be doing a slideshow presentation honoring family members of our students who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. If you have any photos (that are school appropriate) of them in their military uniforms or unique photos of them in action (with a plane or on a ship), please scan and e-mail them to me as a JPEG. If you are not able to e-mail them to me, you can bring in the photos and I can scan them here. If you do e-mail or send in a photo, please include the following information for me:
- Veterans Name
- What Branch they served in, and if they are retired or still active
- Relationship to your child

VETERANS DAY ESSAY CONTEST
Parents,
This year,part of the speaking parts for our Veterans Day Program will be an essay contest. Below is the topic of the essay contest. If your child does not want to do this, they do not have to participate. The top essay will be chosen by Mrs. Thompson and read at the Veterans Day Program. Here are the topics:
