1)Troop semi-annual elections will be held this Wednesday with installation to take place during the February 28th meeting, which is our next Court of Honor. If you want to be considered for a leadership position, come prepared to present yourself to the troop and convince your fellow scouts to vote for you!
2) Winter Freeze camp out is this coming weekend! A permission slip is attached to this email. Any scout without the required medical paperwork will not be allowed to camp with Troop 243. We will be staying at the Tunnel Mill dining hall and utilizing the kitchen to prepare meals. Electronics will be allowed!! The prices will be $25 for scouts and $20 for guests.
3) From Patrick Clarke: “My Eagle Scout Project will be at Raptor Rehab 1025 Southern Avenue on Saturday, February 17th at 8:00 am. Please bring tools and ladders. Yours in Scouting, Patrick Clarke”
4) February 17th, Cherokee District will host a dinner to recognize our 2017 Eagle Scouts and adult leader award winners. The cost is $15 if paid by 2/1/18 and $20 after that and the charge for 2017 Eagle Scouts is $10. If an adult leader orders tickets, we will reimburse the adult leader for the early bird cost of $15 after the leader attends the dinner. We will also still reimburse the Eagle Scout/parent for the $10 cost of the 2017 Eagle Scout attending the dinner.
5) Note: There will be no troop meeting on February 14th because of Ash Wednesday.
6) This is just a reminder that the January and February committee meetings are being combined into one meeting, 7:00 8:30, on February 12th. It will still be held at the St. John Paul II Hike Lane campus in the annex building. Everyone is invited.
7) Please read the attached activity report. The attendance for January locks after February 15 so get any corrections in to me before then. Spirit points and fulfillment of leadership requirements depend on an accurate report.
