JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF RETAIL OUTLETM/s. SATNAM SERVICE STN., JARANG, DIST. MUZAFFARPUR.
i.Quoted rate shall be applicable for any height, depth, level and thickness of wall etc unless otherwise specified.
ii.Samples of all materials will have to be approved by Engg.-In-Charge before using the same.
iii.All IS Codes referred to shall be of Latest Edition only.
iv.List of approved make/brand is attached to technical/commercial bid and decision of HPCL with regard to selection of make/brand of material to be used shall be final.
v.All jobs to be carried out as per technical specification attached to technical/commercial bid.
vi.For all cutting/excavation and filling jobs, it will be the responsibility and duty of the contractor to take joint initial levels with Engg.-In-Charge in all cases before commencing the work.The joint levels should be certified by the contractor as well as HPCL Engg.-In-Charge.The payments will be made basis the initial levels and final levels taken jointly and certified. The pay-ment for all cutting / excavation will be made at the lower rate applicable for 0 to 3 m and the higher rate will be paid only for the portion beyond 3 m depth.If the contractor fails to take jointly certified levels, the levels as taken by HPCL Engg.-In-Charge shall be treated as final and all payments will be released basis the levels so taken by the HPCL Engg.-In-Charge.
vii.Purchase proof of any material may be asked by HPCL from the contractors. HPCL reserves right to approach to original manufacturers, authorised dealers/resellers or any other agency/laboratory for verification of quality/purchase of materials and documents submitted by contractor. Appropriate penal action will be taken against the contractor found defaulting including deductions of amount whole or in part as per discretion of HPCL and also may result in removal of name of the contractor from approved vendors list of HPCL.
viii.The RCC for all foundation/ D/Way/ Slabs shall have exposed RCC finish i.e. no plastering shall be done on finished surface of RCC except in case when written permission has been granted by Engg.-In-Charge, at no extra cost.
ix.WBM wherever carried out should be with murrum or stone dust as binder. In no case mud, soil, sand etc shall be used as binder till written approval of EIC is obtained.
x.For all mortar/mix preparation mechanical / hand mixer usage is mandatory. In no case hand mixing shall be permitted. Written approval from EIC or for jobs involving less than one bag cement consumption may be exempted.
xi.In no case any welding/hot work shall be carried out at any of the retail outlet premises unless and untill special hot work permit/written approval is sought from the EIC.
xii.Proper formwork as specified in the specifications has to be used in all PCC/RCC works. In no case brick/unfinished planks OR make shift arrangements shall be accepted as shuttering.
1.SITE SURVEY UPTO 2000 SQM
Job includes carrying out survey at site, shown by HPCL engineer in-charge and establishing corners and boundaries at site & installing brick work bench mark duly plastered at all the corners for easy identification. Verifying the boundary details given by HPCL and computation of actual site layout plan are to be done. Making temporary grid marking of the area under scope of survey, at every 5.0m interval in both the perpendicular directions. Recording the levels with respect to the permanent B.M (to be established by survey team) using dumpilevel/theodolite. All existing relevant features like trees, electric lines, road, distance of the plot from milestone, culverts etc are to be plotted in the layout plan. Both tracing and soft copy in CAD duly recorded with levels and other details to be submitted to HPCL along with 2 copies of blue prints of each tracing.

4.SITE CLEARANCE
Surface dressing of the ground including removing small trees, vegetation and any other objectionable item and making surface leveled and disposal of all rubbish, outside HPCL's premises to an unobjectionable place, as directed by the Engg.-In-Charge.
5.BOREWELL DRILLING 250MM
250MM dia drilling for borewell in all kinds of soil, except rock, to receive 113MM dia UPVC casing pipe, using direct rotary drilling rig. Rate to include arranging necessary equipments, water and labour required for the job upto a depth of approximately maximum 70m. Rate to include carrying out geological survey of the retail outlet premises to assess the yield OR success of borewell. Scope of job further includes computing the discharge rate of the borewell before going ahead with the job. The borewell should be operated with 1HP submersible pump for 24 hours, the yield during these 24 hrs, should vary between 2klper hour to 5kl per hour, if at any point of time the discharge rate falls below 1.5kl/hr, the boring should be redeveloped and reoperated for 24hrs as specified. If even after repeated developments the discharge rate during 24hrs of continuous operation falls below 1.5KL/hr, the boring shall be deemed to be as failed and in such case the party shall not not be entitled for any payment.
6.Blind pipe 113MM UPVC;IS12818
Supplying, handling, fitting 113mm dia UPVC pipe conforming to IS:12818;1992. The pipe should beof male-female socket type, 8kg/cm2 strength and of TIRUPATI/FINOLEX OR equivalent make. Rate to include supply, transportation and lowering of pipes, fittings and accessories like drill plug with lock at bottom, well cap etc complete. Necessary proof of manufacturer and specification conformance is to furnished before pipe lowering. Only length lowered shall be paid.
7.Slotted/RibbedScreen pipe113MM
Same as item No:6 above but for Slotted OR ribbed screen pipe.
8.DEVELOPMENT OF BOREWELL
Development of borewell using top line method with the help of air compressor of suitable capacity for cleaning the bottom plug till free discharge is obtained.
9.PEA GRAVEL ANNULAR PACKING
Providing and filling all around the annular portion between the pilot hole and main pipe for full depth, approved quality pea gravel (size 3mm to 10mm) to make the surrounding perforated as per the specifications of the site-in-charge.
10.3.0 HP Submersible Pump
Supplying submersible pump of following capacities of KSB/CROMPTON OR other equivalent make suitable for 150mm dia boring with electric panel and necessary fittings. Rate to include supply transportation and lowering alongwith necessary arrangements and fittings etc complete

Supplying and fixing 2.5sqmm x 3 core submersible pump flat cable of approved make.
13.ARMOURED 3CX 2.5SQMM Cu CABLE
Supply and laying insulated, sheathed, armoured LT cable of approved make and conforming to IS:1554; Part-1, 1988 3 core x 2.5sqmm copper cable with necessary fittings. The cable should be laid from submersible cable (ground level) to electric panel in 2" dia PVC conduit. Cable used to be of approved brand only.
14.WATER TESTING
Collection of water sample from the borewell and getting it tested from approved laboratory for the potability. The report to be submitted to the HPCL site-in-charge
15.EXCAVATION IN EARTH<=3M
Earth work in excavation in all kind of soil including soft rock but excluding hard rock upto a depth of 3 m from the existing ground level. The job includes shoring, shuttering, bailing out rain water / sub soil water manually or by using appropriate capacity dewatering pump., ramming the bottom , dressing the sides and bottoms and stacking the excavated earth not less than 1 m from the edge of excavation and then backfilling, spreading, watering and compaction, disposal of surplus earth within / outside HPCL's premises to any unobjectionable place all complete as per direction of Engg.-In-Charge. Any sheet piling required to prevent excessive water seepage to tank area /foundation area will be paid separately as per approval of Engg.-In-Charge .Up to 3 m depth
16.EXCAVATION IN EARTH > 3M
Same as item no. 15 but for beyond 3 m depth
17.EXCAVATION-HARD ROCK<=3M
Description same as item no.15 except the soil will be hard rock and the excavation should be carried out by pneumatic tools like jack hammer, chisels, or by blasting taking all safety precautions and approvals as required. For 0-3 m depth
18.EXCAVATION-HARD ROCK>3m
Same as item no.17 but for beyond 3 m depth
19.SAND FILLING - LAYERS<150MM
Supply and filling with clean silver / river sand of approved quality in layers of 150 mm each including spreading, compacting by hand ramming and watering etc, all complete as per direction of Engg.-In-Charge. Measurement basis compacted thickness only.
20.EARTH FILLING- LAYERS<200MM
Supplying and filling imported earth of approved quality in layers not exceeding compacted thickness of 200mm incl. Watering, ramming, compacting, and if required, rolling and re-rolling with power roller / manual roller / mechanical compactors to achieve maximum compaction, all complete as per direction of Engg.-In-Charge. The earth should be free from weeds, grass and other objectionable debris. Black Cotton soil shouldn't be used. Measurement basis compacted thickness only.
21.MURRUM FILLING- LAYERS<150MM
Supplying and filling imported murrum of approved quality in layers not exceeding compacted thickness of 150 mm inclusive spreading, Watering ,ramming, compacting, and if required, rolling and re-rolling with power roller / manual roller / mechanical compactors to achieve maximum compaction, all complete as per direction of Engg.-In-Charge. The murrum should be excavated from a quarry / mines, free from weeds, grass and other objectionable debris. Measurement basis compacted thickness only.

22.GRANULAR SUBBASE -LAYERS<150MM
Supplying, laying and filling granular sub-base with sand gravel mix in the proportion of 1:1 for required compacted thickness in layers of 150 mm thick using approved quality gravel / stone aggregate and sand including watering, compacting with power / manual roller to achieve maximum compactness. Measurement basis compacted thickness only.

PCC WORK : Providing and laying PCC using graded stone aggregate of specified size and down. The job includes machine mixing, providing formwork, MS/plywood(minimum 19 mm thick) shuttering if directed by Engg.-In-Charge, placing, compacting by hand ramming , curing for a period of 14 days etc, all complete as per direction of Engg.-In-Charge. Removing of shuttering to be done carefully without such shock and vibration as to damage the PCC work. For PCC 1:1.5:3 using 20 mm and down size graded stone aggregates. Vibrator to be used whenever directed by Engg.-in-Charge without any extra cost.

Job includes all formwork, side MS/plywood(Minimum 19 mm thick) shuttering, proper compaction, hand ramming and curing for 14 days ,and supplying/applying a coat of hot bitumen of grade 60/70 on top, all complete including spreading of sand as required.
29.PCC 1:1.5:3-GROUT. MS STRUCT.
Providing and laying PCC 1:1.5:3 mix using 20mm and down stone aggregate for grouting Angles/MS Structurals. Other specs as per item no. 23. MS Structurals will be paid for separately.

30.RCC1:1.5:3FOUND.PLNTH.RET. WAL
REINFORCED CEMENT CONCRETE : Providing , Mixing, laying and placing RCC 1:1.5:3 mix with ordinary Portland cement using 20 mm and down size graded crushed stone aggregate including providing and fixing necessary plywood(minimum 19 mm thick)/ steel shuttering , scaffolding, machine mixing, compacting by mechanical vibrators (needle / skid etc), curing, hacking the surface to receive plaster using plastic / PVC sheet of thickness minimum 20micron under RCC, as directedwherever required. etc. all complete. Machine mixing to be done without exception. Rate shall be exclusive of the cost of steel reinforcement, Concrete shall conform to relevant specifications of IS 456:2000 Latest Edition. For footings/foundations / plinth beam / floor beam / retaining wall etc.
Superplasticiser Rheobuild SP1 (Napthalene base) shall be dosed in mixing water after 50-70% of mixing water has been added in the mixer machine. The Dosage will be in the range of 0.6% to 0.8% by weight of cement (i.e. 300ml - 400ml per 50 kg. bag of cement) to get desired workability. Equivalent Napthalene based superplasticiser may be used in manufacturer's specified proportions/methods after prior approval of Engg.-in-Charge .

Earth work under pile foundation of specified dia till specified depth using hand auger or mechanical auger as approved in ordinary soil true to plumb, providing M 25 concrete for under reamed piles up to required depth with bulbs as directed and as per IS 2911 etc. complete as per design and direction of Engg.-In-Charge. Reinforcement steel shall be paid for separately. 150 mm diameter.

37.REINFORCEMENT STEEL IS:1786
Supply ,fabrication, hoisting and placing in position HYSD reinforcement bars conforming to IS1786 -Latest Edition Grade FE 415 /TMT bars of same grade as per detailed drawing and specifications including cutting, bending, cranking and tying with 18 SWG black annealed binding wire complete. The rates shall be applicable for all heights and depths. Payment shall be made as per reinforcement drawings and with theoretical weights only including all authorized laps, chairs, spacers and hooks.
38.BRICKMASONRY: SUBSTR.-NEW BRICK
Providing and constructing following brick masonry in CM 1:5 using locally available bricks of Class designation 75 (minimum) and conforming to IS 1077:1986 including providing all openings and projections , raking the joints to 1 cm deep, scaffolding, soaking of bricks in water prior to use and curing etc all complete as per specifications .

Once the demolition is over, the party has to take out the usable good bricks and stack them properly to enable Engg.-In-Charge to assess the quantity of bricks for future reference and calculation. Once the assessment is made it is duty of the contractor to obtain certificate from Engg.-In-Charge about the quantity of usable bricks available before these bricks are put to use. In absence of certificate no payment will be made. However, in no case the old bricks shall be used without the assessment of quantity and clearance to use the old bricks is given by the Engg.-In-Charge.
40.BRICKMASONRY: SUPERST.-NEWBRICK
SUPER STRUCTURES. Providing and laying brick Masonry as item no. 38 but for superstructure above DPC level including scaffolding.
41.BRICKMASONRY: SUPERST-OLDBRICKS
SUPER STRUCTURE : Same as item no. 38 but using old bricks taken out from demolished masonry. Rate includes removing mortars and cleaning of bricks etc. complete.
