RULES AND REGULATIONS 2015

FOR SHOOTERS HOLDING PERMITS
  1. Legal licensed shotguns only to be used on all shoots.
  1. Only wood pigeons, jackdaws, rabbits, rats and Canada geese to be shot, subject to season and local shooting rules.
  1. Shooting times (do not apply to Feltham Hill North):
  2. Monday to Saturday – dawn until dusk, but not before 7.00 am.
  3. Sunday – in this case please show consideration for local residents and do not shoot before 10.00 am, and finish one hour before dusk.

All day shooting is not allowed at weekends. Maximum of 5 hours a day at one farm.

  1. Shooting times for Feltham Hill:
  2. Monday to Saturday – 9.00 am to 6.00 pm
  3. Sunday – 10.00 am to 6.00 pm

Feltham Hill North is covered by a Noise Abatement Notice served by the Hounslow Borough Council. If you shoot outside of the times set above, you could be liable to pay a £20,000 fine!

  1. Every shooter shall wear their personal identification card and carry their permit letter, whilst out shooting. Each car shall show its car badge with current vehicle number.
  1. All permit holders shall hold such licences and certificates (including adequate insurance cover) as appropriate to allow them to engage lawfully in this form of sport. These certificates, along with their permit, should be carried at all times and produced on demand by the Police, landowner or any other authorised person.
  1. Boundaries to be kept to on all shoots (see maps provided). Under no circumstances whatsoever shall a permit holder pass beyond the boundaries, except to recover vermin or pests shot on or over the locations they have permission to shoot on, and then only with the previous consent of the landowner concerned. In any such case, the permit holder’s gun shall be left within the boundaries of the land on which he has permission to shoot.
  1. No shooting over or near public footpaths or within 100 metres of path. Always shoot away from a public footpath. Always stop shooting when you see a member of the general public in the field.
  1. Under no circumstances should any shots be taken towards any houses or gardens. You must shoot with your back to any residential properties.
  1. At no time will a permit holder take a non-permit holder shooting on JRS Leisure land. Contravention of this rule will mean the removal of permit for life.
  1. No shooting within 200 yards of any quarry workings. Shoot with your back to the quarry.
  1. Permit holders’ dogs must be kept under control and not allowed to interfere with the sport of others. All permit holders must ensure that their dogs do not trespass or chase livestock. Do not walk through oilseed rape when the crop is mature.
  1. Please clear up all decoys after your days’ shooting.
  1. ALL EMPTY CARTRIDGES TO BE TAKEN AWAY AND GUN HIDES TO BE LEFT TIDY.
  1. Please report anyone causing damage to property to the Police, or if you see any damage please let us know. You are our eyes and ears.
  1. NO VEHICLES (including motorcycles) ARE TO BE DRIVEN ON ANY FIELD, cropped or uncropped. Vehicles must not be parked in front of gates or obstructing access to the fields nor exceed 5 mph while on company roads. Cars are to be parked as directed on the farm maps.
  1. All permits issued will be signed by an authorised member of JRS Leisure.
  1. Any other rules and regulations stipulated on the farm must be followed.
  1. No one has permission to ride motorbikes on any farm. If you see anyone on a motorbike, please stop them and warn the Police.
  1. The shooting seasons of the farms are in accordance with “The Protection of Birds Act 1954” and “The Game Act 1831”.
  1. It is the object of the company to promote and protect the sport of shooting, wildfowling and rough shooting in particular. Permit holders are asked at all times to do all possible to further the aims of the “British Association for Shooting & Conservation”.
  1. All shooters visiting the farms do so at their own risk. Neither JRS Leisure nor any landowner accepts responsibility for any damage, loss, accident nor injury to persons or their property.
  1. In the event of cancellation, surrender or withdrawal of any permit for any reason whatsoever, no refund shall be made by J Rayner & Sons Ltd or JRS Leisure.
  1. JRS Leisure reserves the right at their own discretion to amend the rules when and where they think fit.

If we receive more than two complaints in any one year about any shooter or their shooting, their permit will be withdrawn immediately.
