Cooled Transported Semen Contract

Breeding season: 2006

  1. I agree to breed the above mare to the stallion BIG RED SOLANO for the 2006 breeding season using cooled transported semen. It is understood that the breeding season is to be March 15 through July 1, 2006.
  2. The breeding fee is $ 1500.00 (includes a non-refundable booking fee of $400.00 and a chute fee of $400.00). The full payment shall be payable 10 days prior to cooled semen being shipped.
  3. While every effort will be made to coordinate shipping semen, mares on the premises of Atkinson Quarter Horses have a breeding priority on any given breeding day; therefore we cannot guarantee cooled semen will be available for a specific day. Shipping days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week.
  4. Stallion ownerAtkinson Quarter Horses cannot be responsible for lost or damaged shipments. Shipping is done at the mare owner’s risk.

5. A copy of the mare’s registration certificate along with all appropriate fees and completed contracts must be

received prior to cooled semen transportation.

6. LIVE FOAL GUARANTEE:

a) A live foal is defined as a foal that stands and nurses without assistance.

b) Confirmation that the mare is in foal should be communicated to Atkinson Quarter Horses within 30 days of

the last date of shipment.

c) Should the mare not produce a live foal or not conceive using cooled semen, a rebreed to the same mare (or

agreed substitute) will be honored the following year. A rebreed service charge (chute fee) will apply.

d) This guarantee applies only if the mare owner notifies the stallion owner within 30 days that the mare has not

conceived or within one week in the case of the death of the foal. A statement shall accompany these notices

from a licensed veterinarian.

e) If the mare proves not to be in foal, the stallion owner has the option to rebreed the same (or substitute) mare

the following year(s) or provide a refund of the breeding fee, less the booking fee, and this contract

shall terminate. If rebreeding, a rebreed service fee (chute fee) will apply.

f) Transfer of (re-)breeding to a third party and/or mare substitution is subject to prior approval by the Stallion

owner.

7. All costs associated with inseminating the mare by the attending veterinarian are the responsibility of the mare

owner and are in addition to any fees contained in this contract.

8. If for any reason, the mare cannot be verified in foal, the mare owner will not hold the stallion owner, or any

stallion owner employees liable.

9. It is understood that should BIG RED SOLANO die or become unfit for service before completion of an

executed contract, the contract shall become null and void and the breeding fee (minus booking and chute fees) shall be refunded.

10. A Breeder’s Certificate will be forwarded to the mare owner upon receipt from the AQHA and will be executed

with the owners’ names provided on the mare’s Registration Certificate or Lessee if valid lease documents were

provided.

the jurisdiction of the LoveCounty, Oklahoma court district
