The Transfiguration of the Lord

At the Transfiguration, Father, You showed

Jesus in glory, a glimpse of what His disciples

would see in His risen life.

Bless us in our humanity,

with an awareness of Your presence,

leading us to share in Your divine life

even in our daily struggle.

Help us to deepen

our knowledge of the Law and the Prophets,

channels of Your grace throughout history,

and signposts for our journey.

Amen.

Dear Parents

Yesterday we celebrated a beautiful liturgy for the Blessed Mary Mackillop. St Andrew’s has a strong association with the Josephite Sisters.Sister Wendy Lailey works on staff as a Pastoral Care giver. She is a marvelous example of how a spirit filled person can quieten the hearts of the disheartened, lonely or needy. We thank Sister for her significant contribution to our school community.

Children at St Andrew’s are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. We will be having a dress up parade on Tuesday 22nd August at 8.45am in the School Hall for Playgroup and Kindy to Year 6. The children can also bring a copy of the book that their character belongs to. The fancy dress should not be elaborate or hired, as the focus is on the literature. Parents are invited to join the parade on Tuesday morning.Children will proceed as usual to class and then to the hall with their teachers.
