CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tyler.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

ON MOTION OF SUPERVISOR JONES, seconded by SUPERVISOR CAPLE and carried: RESOLVED that the Sussex County Board of Supervisors hereby approves the agenda of the April 26, 2007 recessed meeting.

Voting aye: Supervisors Caple, Collins, Fly, Harrell, Jones, Tyler

Voting nay: none

ADOPTION OF FISCAL YEAR 2008 BUDGET

ON MOTION OF SUPERVISOR COLLINS, seconded by SUPERVISOR CAPLE that the Fiscal Year 2008 budget be adopted in the amount of thirty nine million, three hundred, seventy three thousand, nine hundred, thirty-seven dollars ($39,373,937).

Supervisor Fly expressed concerns about the 4% cost of living increases as proposed and other items of the budget.

Supervisor Collins stated that he offered the resolution in the traditional method that has been utilized by the Board of Supervisors in previous years – that is to approve the budget and appropriate the dollar amount.

Chairman Tyler asked Supervisor to re-state his motion.

ON MOTION OF SUPERVISOR COLLINS, seconded by SUPERVISOR CAPLE that Fiscal Year Budget 2008 be adopted and funding be appropriated at the May 17, 2007 meeting.

Laying of the Levy For Fiscal Year 2008

ON MOTION OF SUPERVISOR CAPLE, seconded by SUPERVISOR HARRELL and carried: RESOLVED that the SussexCounty levy for Fiscal Year 2008 was properly advertised for public hearing; and

WHEREAS, the Sussex County Board of Supervisors held its public hearing on April, 19, 2007 at 8:00 p.m.; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Sussex hereby adopts the Sussex County Levy for Fiscal Year as follows:

Public Service @ R. E. $0.48/$100P. P. $4.85/$100

Real Estate $0.48/$100Mobile Home $0.48/$100

Machinery & Tools $4.85/$100Merchants Capital $1.00/$100

Personal Property $4.85/$100Fire & Rescue $2.43/$100

Personal Property Tax Relief 55%
