Certificate of Appreciation

Citation: In appreciation of diligent and sustained effort that provided a direct contribution in significantly heightening the technical integrity of the standards developed by the committee.

General Selection Criteria:

● Usually the first recognition given to committee members in any membership category for active participation and contributions to a task group leading to a specific standard (e.g. significant ballot review/revision, active meeting participant, serving as task group chair, document author, etc.).

● The continued submission of sound comments that provided for the development and subsequent approval of a stronger, more relevant standard (typically reinforced through regular meeting attendance either virtual and/or face-to-face).

● Minimum of one (1) year service on E54

Distinguished service Award

Citation: For providing significant contribution in acting as an activity leader or primary technical contact, and/or providing considerable authoring assistance, that is directly responsible for the development and publication of E54 standards.

General Selection Criteria:

● Given to committee members who have served with distinction on the committee through leadership roles, and/or made significant contributions to various task groups and subcommittees. They will have relentlessly pursued the completion of a standard (or standards) through continued contribution via authoring or assistance in coordinating balloting feedback. All of the task group’s work does not have to be completed, but awardees will have led one or more task groups and actively participated at the subcommittee level.

● Minimum of two (2) years of continuous service on E54

Outstanding Leadership Award

Citation: For displaying exceptional leadership in the management of committee growth and operations and/or in concert with coordinating standards activities, and/or a pioneering the development of standards (by serving as primary document author) for E54. A maximum of one (1) recipient per year is permitted.

General Selection Criteria:

● Given to committee members in any membership category, for leadership of subcommittees and significant task groups (providing leadership for a specific standard, or series of standards).

● Provides leadership support that is essential to the sustained ability of the Committee to meet its stated objectives, and provides for the continued development of the committee through new standards initiatives and possible new activity development.

● Demonstrated ability to harness and coordinate diverse stakeholder groups to focus on a variety of standards activities and strategic committee goals.

● Minimum of three (3) years of continuous service on E54

Who can submit nominations? Any member of E54 (main or subcommittee) can submit a nomination for an award to the Chairman of the E54.93 Subcommittee on Awards. The Chairmen of the E54 technical subcommittees are encouraged to actively monitor their membership, and submit nominations as warranted.

How will award recipients be selected? The E54.93 Subcommittee on Awards has the responsibility to review all award nominations, as well as the exclusive authority to determine award recipients. Approval for all E54 awards must be by unanimous vote of E54.93.
