- Clarification of AHIA’s Service Needs:
- David indicated that AHIA has the following preferences:
- E-Learning course registration handled by AHIA
- Server hosting and maintenance handled by E-Learning vendor
- Joel asked if the E-Learning site must have the same “Look & Feel” as the AHIA’s site; David said that he will ask the Board
- Joel asked if the AHIA had staffing capability to handle in-house content conversion and David indicated that adequate staffing for this did not currently exist and was not addressed in his company’s contract. However, he said the contract could be amended and the door should be kept openfor this option.
- Joel said that he had assumed David and Sally were AHIA employees and requested clarification. David explained that he and Sally work for an association management firm to whom the AHIA outsourcesmgmt functions
- David said that there may be a need to use multiple E-Learning vendors
- Selection of Courses for E-Learning:
- The enrollment statistics sent by Sally on AHIA’s 6 most popular classroom courses were discussed and it was noted that 4 of 6 dealt with the bottom line, i.e. revenue recovery or cost effectiveness. Therefore, the group agreed that the first course selected for E-Learning should relate to bottom line improvement. Sally said that she would e-mail PowerPoints of the top 3 courses for evaluation by the group.
- Rachel suggested using a product such as “Survey Monkey” to conducta member survey of E-Learning preferences. The discussion was inconclusive.
- Audio recording of training sessions was discussed. The group agreed that AHIA should take advantage of the upcoming conference to record select sessions for subsequent use in content conversion.
- Vendor Evaluations:
- Joel suggested utilizing a template for comparing vendors. The group agreed and Joel said that he would develop/distribute one.
