Thursday, January 19 / Lunch, Learn and Serve / CLE presentation by Human Rights Initiative / 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / TBD – Tollway? / HRI provides legal services to people seeking asylum, relief under the Violence Against Women Act, Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act, immigrant victims of violent crime and immigrant child victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment.NRF will apply for and secure CLE credit for attendees, and attorneys will be able to take cases pending clearing of conflicts.
Thursday, February 23 / Pro Bono Fair / Happy Hour and Information Session / 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. / Norton Rose Fulbright Offices / Representatives of several pro bono service organizations will be introduced, such as:
  • Human Rights Initiative
  • Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program
  • Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans
  • Texas C-BAR
  • Housing Crisis Center
  • Mosaic Family Services
  • Catholic Charities of Dallas
  • City Square
Representatives will provide a very brief description of the types of legal services their clients need, and attorneys can sign up to receive information about organizations in which they have a particular interest.
Thursday, April 20 / Lunch, Learn and Serve / CLE presentation by DVAP and/or Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans / 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / Norton Rose Fulbright Offices / We will invite representatives from the Dallas and Fort Worth veterans legal clinics to describe the legal issues faced by Texas veterans and provide training for volunteer attorneys to assist with some of these issues.NRF will apply for and secure CLE credit for attendees.
Thursday, September 14 / Lunch, Learn and Serve / CLE presentation by Housing Crisis Center / 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / TBD – Tollway? / The Housing Crisis Center assists low-income clients to understand Texas and federal housing laws and address their specific concerns. More than 9,000 people from all over the DFWmetroplex and from all walks of life seek HCC’s help each year, in areas ranging from lockouts and evictions to disputes regarding rent, repairs and public housing issues. HCC will provide training to attending attorneys on some of these issues.NRF will apply for and secure CLE credit for attendees.
Wednesday, September 27 / Housing Crisis Center Legal Clinic / Pro Bono Service Opportunity / 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. / 4210 Junius St.
Dallas, TX 75246 / ACC members will team up with NRF attorneys to staff this monthly clinic and then have dinner or drinks at a nearby restaurant. Volunteer attorneys may, but are not required to, take a case after interviewing a prospective HCC client.
Friday, October 6 / Veterans Legal Clinics -
TWO Locations / Pro Bono Service Opportunity / 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. / Dallas Veterans Resource Center, 4900 South Lancaster Rd

Location TBD in Fort Worth / ACC members will team up with NRF attorneys in two locations – Dallas and Fort Worth - to staff these monthly clinics, followed by a happy hour at a nearby watering hole. Volunteer attorneys may, but are not required to, take a case after interviewing a prospective veteran client.
Thursday, December 7 / Lunch, Learn and Serve / CLE presentation by Texas Community Building with Attorney Resources (Texas C-BAR) / 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / Norton Rose Fulbright Offices / Texas C-BAR provides free legal assistance to Texas nonprofits working to improve the quality of life in low-income neighborhoods. They recruit experienced transactional attorneys, who volunteer to help these organizations with their corporate, real estate, tax and employment law needs. A representative of the organization will give a short presentation on the types of legal services needed from the volunteer bar and provide training on such services.NRF will apply for and secure CLE credit for attendees.
