Announcements:

·  For the first time, the Summer Initiatives Planning Group has opened up the opportunity for faculty to teach an online Maymester course. These courses must be approved by the school’s or college’s deans office to make sure the course is appropriate for a condensed format.

·  Peter Bryant introduced Kathie Greenwood, who is new to the Ombuds office and will be helping students and staff members.

Discussion Items:

·  Tuition Appeal Policy (Kimberly Clark): The Office of the Registrar has seen an increase in tuition appeals submitted and reviewed. With this increase, the Office of the Registrar has decided to update the Campus Administrative Policy Statement on Tuition Appeals. One main revision to the policy includes changing the due date from 3 months to 6 months from the end of the semester. The criteria section of the policy has seen the largest change with five new added sections. Also, section F now lists voting members from all schools and colleges. Kimberly Clark asked the members to read through the revised policy and email her any corrections or concerns.

·  Grade Change Notifications (Kimberly Clark): The Office of the Registrar is implementing a system in ISIS where all interested parties (e.g. students and associate deans) can be notified when a grade is changed. Kimberly will need the names of person(s) in each school and college to whom the notifications should be sent. Kimberly will keep the AD/ASG group updated on details to come, as well as an implementation date. Kimberly also announced that on December 9, 2013, grade rosters will be created and the associate deans should pass this information onto their faculty.

·  Online Enrollment (Kimberly Clark): The Office of the Registrar is discussing the idea of moving to an all-electronic system for enrollment and drop forms. The schools/colleges would make decisions about enrollment sizes of classes and giving students approval codes for enrolling in classes. The logistics of this system are still being discussed at this time and there are lots of issues to address. The Office of the Registrar hopes to have this new system in place by fall of 2014.
