Assignment 2–Athlete’s Communication Skills

Scenario: You are following a Sport Psychologist working for a company who specialise in helping elite athletes. Part of your role in this job is to offer professional advice and support to athletes with regards to the very specific life challenges that they face.

The manager of Torquay United Football Club has asked you to work with a number of the younger players at the club. They have noticed that many of the younger team members do not communicate in an appropriate manner with coaching staff and senior club members. Some people have complained that these players are brash and obnoxious. The media have also taken a disliking to the players which is compromising the club’s reputation.

You have been asked to produce some information packs for the younger players at the club on how to communicate effectively with the media.
