Position: Risk and Control Analyst - IT Location: Lloyds Court

(£42,000 - £46,000 depending upon experience)

Position

The successful candidate will be part of the Internal Audit Section and will undertake a range of high profile internal audit assignments within the organisation with a view to ensuring that risks are properly understood and systems adequately controlled.

Key Responsibilities

·  Undertake the planning of audits including fact finding and determining the scope of the work

·  Carrying out an assessment of the risks involved in the area under review and their significance to the company

·  Identifying and testing the controls that are designed to mitigate business risks

·  Completing work within agreed job budgets

·  Preparing draft and final audit reports

·  Presenting the results to management

·  Undertaking adhoc assignments and special investigations where necessary

·  Helping management to solve operational problems

·  Monitoring / reviewing / developing systems particularly in relation to business processes

Key Competencies

·  Strong technical skills with the ability to critically assess business processes, risks, the effectiveness of controls and to work with management to effect an improvement. Strong attention to detail and proven understanding of controls. Proven commitment to carrying out audit work to a high standard including control / risk identification and high quality audit working papers.

·  Good communication and report writing skills, with an ability to produce reports that need a minimum of revision and give appropriate emphasis to key issues. Confidence in communicating with management and explaining the risks and implications associated with audit findings and being able to challenge management’s views in a robust manner where appropriate. Ability to suggest positive recommendations for improving the efficiency of business processes in order to effect cost reductions.

·  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·  Possess the drive, determination and willingness to seek continual improvement in own performance as a well as that of the company. Track record of working to deadlines.

·  Ability to deal with sensitive issues and remain calm under pressure, whilst at the same time exercising determination and resolve.

·  Ability to provide a range of services including audit, special investigations and consultancy work.

Qualifications and Attributes

Essential Qualifications

·  Appropriate computer audit qualifications (QICA or CISA)

·  A full clean driving licence is required

Desirable Qualifications:

·  Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)

·  Institute of Internal Auditors qualification

Essential Experience:

·  Previous experience of delivering internal audits, special investigations and consultancy reviews.

·  Previous experience of reviewing IT applications and process / controls.

·  Business process documentation including identification of risks and controls and necessary metrics.

·  Previous experience of developing computer systems.

Desirable Experience:

·  Sarbanes-Oxley experience.
