III. Proposed changes to the faculty contract:

“Appendix J—Self-Evaluation Report—Change “improvement of instruction” to “improvement of instruction and student learning outcomes” in Items 1) and 6). Also add “IMPROVEMENT OF INSTRUCTION AND STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES” to Items I and IV.”

Goals and Benchmarks:

Faculty/Staff:
·  Continue to write SLO/assessment proposals
·  Continue to assess SLO/assessment proposals
·  By the end of Spring 2009, each program will have drafted their program-level SLOs
·  By the end of Spring 2009, each program will have drafted a plan and deadlines for writing SLO assessment plans and a plan for assessments for the next several semesters (keeping in mind program review and curriculum review deadlines as well as ways to include Compton faculty in the process)
Assessment of Learning Committee:
·  Continue facilitating the development, assessment, and implementation of SLOs
·  By the end of Spring 2009, an adjunct faculty MOU will have been drafted
·  By Fall 2008, a database/online system for SLOs will have been developed
·  By Spring 2009, a plan for assessment of core competencies will have been
developed
Curriculum Committee:
·  By Fall 2008, a plan for linking SLOs and assessments to curriculum development will have been drafted
·  By Spring 2009, the plan will have been implemented
Program Review Committee:
·  By Fall 2008, a plan for linking SLOs and assessments to program review will have been drafted
·  By Spring 2009, the plan will have been implemented
Deans/Administration:
·  Continue supporting faculty in building the process
·  Make sure deadlines are adhered to
Academic Senate
·  Continue supporting the ALC by acting as a resource as well as the body responsible for making policy regarding SLOs and assessments
