CRUFTS AGILITY HEAT REGULATIONS 2008
If the entry for the heat exceeds the Kennel Club limit for a judge in a day, then the class will be equally split and another judge appointed for the second part. Qualifiers and points from that heat will be taken in equal proportion from each part.
Dogs entered in any heats must be eligible for the competition entered. Judges have the right to check the dog’s Kennel Club Agility Record Book to ensure the dog is running in the correct height category.
All results from these heats must be sent to the Crufts Office at the Kennel Club within 14 days of the show date. (All results will be sent by Beacon Agility DTC).

SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Dogs entered at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B. The registration number/Authority to Compete number will be required for each entry.
2. Entry Fees: £2.30 Non members, £1.10 helping members per dog per class, £10 Championship. £10 Crufts team. Postage 40p no SAE for Agility. £14 per flyball team. SAE for flyball only. Pounds.Sterling only.
3. There will be no prize money for any of the classes.
4. The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries.
5. Puppies under 18 calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible to compete for Kennel Club licensed Agility Show.
6. Not For Competition entries will be accepted for dogs aged four calendar months and over. Dogs must be Kennel Club registered.

7. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden.
8. No bitch in season is allowed to compete.
9. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show.
10. Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half-slip collar or lead when under test. A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted, providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar ie. Not attached by a ring.
11. Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge.
12. No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges.
13. All offers of sponsorship are listed within the schedule.
14. Kennel Club Standard marking Regulations apply.
15. The heights of the jump obstacles will be: 550-650mm large dogs, 350-450mm for medium dogs and 250-350mm for small dogs
16. Height limits for dogs will be:
· Large Dogs – measuring over 430mm(1ft 5in) at the withers
· Medium Dogs – measuring over 350mm (1ft 1.75in) and 430mm(1ft 5in) or under at the withers
· Small Dogs – measuring under 350mm (1ft .75in) at the withers
17. Judges at an Agility Show may not enter for competition a dog, which is recorded in their ownership or part ownership; or handle a dog at the Show at which they are judging.
18. Withdrawal of dogs from Show
A dog shall be withdrawn from competition and removed from the Show if it is: -
a. A bitch that is in season.
b. Suffering from any infectious diseases or contagious disease.
c. Interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent.
d. Of such temperament or is so much out of hand as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal.
e. Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing.
19. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 7 days before the date of closing of entries (21st March 2008) shall be counted when entering for any class.
20. It is the competitors' responsibility to be available for their class and running order.
21. Handlers working more than one dog in a class must ensure that the dogs compete in the sequence in which they are drawn. Failure . . to do so may result in elimination.
22. Should circumstances so dictate the Society, in consultation with the Judges may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes . . . . and the circumstances surrounding them will be reported to the Kennel Club.
23. A dog must at the time of entry for the Competition be registered as required by the Kennel Club Rules & Regulations in the Competitors' name (or registration or transfer applied for). In the case of a partnership the full name of every partner must be given. In the case of dogs recorded as owned by a limited company, the directors and the secretary of the limited company will jointly be considered for the purpose of the Regulations. A dog acquired subsequent to entry having been made at a Competition may compete as the new owners' property provided that an application for the transfer has been forwarded to the Kennel Club before the Competition, and the new owner has undertaken to abide by the Regulations and conditions of the original entry form.
24. Food shall not be carried in the hand or given to a dog in the ring.
25. Ballot for Championship Class Running Orders
a. Agility Round and Jumping Round – A draw for the running order of the Agility and Jumping Rounds must be made prior to the show. The relevant competitors must be notified before the day of the show. Dogs must be run in their drawn order
b. Final Agility Round – Dogs to run in reverse order to their combined placings at the end of the first two rounds.
26. Separate entry forms must be completed by each Competitor and must be signed by the Competitor or his authorised agent in
accordance with the provisions specified thereon. Entry forms must be accompanied with the appropriate fees.
27. Competition of Dogs Suffering from Contagious or Infectious Disease – No dogs suffering from infectious or contagious disease or having been exposed to such disease during the period of 21 days prior to the Competition may compete. Competitors infringing the Regulation will be liable to be fined and/or dealt with under Kennel Club Rule A42.
28. No animal other than one officially entered shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except any dogs registered to assist the disabled, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee. However at the discretion of the show society a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the dog show with the provision that those in charge of the dog sign a declaration confirming the dog is free from disease and will be kept under proper control at all times.
29. All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor.
30. A pay on the day class will be held if time permits.
31. Adults who accompany children are responsible for their children’s behaviour, actions and safety
32. In the event of abandonment of the Show through circumstances beyond our control, the Committee may defray such expenses, from entry fees to cover the cost of the Show preparation.
33. A Training ring will be available both days at a cost of £1 per minute. All proceeds will be going to the UK team fund.
Welfare of dogs
An exhibitor (or competitor) whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not knowingly put their dogs’ health at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of this Regulation may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations.
CRUFTS Singles Agility Competition
These competitions will be scheduled as a combined class for grades 6 & 7 for all height categories. There will be a separate qualifying competition for each height category.
There will be 10 separate heats for each height category, (small, medium, large) held at Kennel Club licensed shows, throughout the country.
The first 10 placed dogs in each heat will have the following points awarded:
1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points etc. down to 10th place = 1 point.
In the event of awards not going down to 10th place the Show Secretary should record the top ten places excluding eliminated dogs and send the results to the Crufts Office at the Kennel Club within 14 days of the show.
Competitors may enter more than one dog in a heat. Competitors may qualify more than one dog for the final.
The 16 large dogs with the highest accumulation of points will be invited to compete in the CRUFTS Singles Large Agility Final at CRUFTS 2009.
The 10 medium dogs with the highest accumulation of points will be invited to compete in the CRUFTS Singles Medium Agility Final at CRUFTS 2009.
The 10 small dogs with the highest accumulation of points will be invited to compete in the CRUFTS Singles Small Agility Final at CRUFTS 2009.
CRUFTS Team Agility Competition
This is an Agility competition and must include at least two items of contact equipment.
This is a team relay event and a suitable baton should be used which must remain behind the start line at all times. When the dog/handler returns to the start/finish, there will be a baton change between the handlers. No part of the next dog/handler must be over the start line at the change over; failure to observe this will incur a penalty of twenty faults.
These competitions will be scheduled as a combined class for grades 1 to 7 for all height categories. There will be a separate qualifying competition for each height category.
