Asia Hope Camp Organization Internship Program

Introduction

Asia Hope Camp Organization’s internship program provides high school and university students first-hand experience working in an NGO. After the program, interns are expected to develop knowledge and skills in organization, research, partnership, knowledge exchange, and leadership.

Qualifications

- High school or university student (Undergraduate or graduate)

- Proficient in English (Knowledge in Korean and/or Japanese is widely appreciated as they are the basic languages used in the office)

- Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Office and Internet

- Knowledge and skills in Marketing, Web Design and Digital Communication are preferred

- Able to work with minimal supervision

- Positive working attitude; able to relate well with people from different cultures

Work

The intern will mainly be assigned in one of the following projects: work camp and K-POP camp, multicultural classroom (1:1 Language class), ACOPIA House, and Internship. However, the intern may also work for other projects if needed.

Intern's Work Description

The intern’s work will involve the following:

1. Promotion of Work camp and K-pop Camp

- Promotion of work camp and K-pop camp

- Logistic support during the camp

- Forming partnership with organizations from home country

2. Multicultural gathering and language exchange program

- Introduce your country to Korean and foreigner students

- 1:1 language lessons with Korean students

- There is a possibility to take over 2 students per day

3. Promotion of ACOPIA Internship program

- Overseas internship promotion and response

4. Visiting school(s)

- For promotion of work camp and K-POP camp, or other promotions

5. Cafe Serving

- Serve drinks and cook native meals at ACOPIA Cafe

6. Others

- Translation & maintenance of the website and social networking sites

- Creation of social media content

- Other international activities in line with the organization's work

- Online promotion

> Workcamp, K-pop school, ACOPIA House, Internship, Multicultural classroom

> Provide new platform or database where we can do promotions in the future

Working Conditions

- Interns will be working under the supervision of the team member handling a specific project.

- The workplace will be in Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The office is 5 minutes away from Hongik University Station Exit 2.

- The number of working days is flexible. Working time is at least 6 hours per working day. Lunch break is excluded in the working hours.

- The internship is unpaid and not funded.

- Interns are required to write an internship report within the first month of internship. The intern shall answer an evaluation form and update his/her report at the end of the internship.

I, as the intern, accept the following rules and responsibilities(If I fail to keep the rules, I will be disqualified from intern immediately):

1. Working hours is at least 6 hours a day, 3 times a week. Lunch break is from 12:00 - 12:50. It is not included in the working hours. Possible working days are from Monday through Friday, and Saturday. Sunday and public holidays in Korea are off-days.

2. Internal information such as information of clients, Asia Hope Camp Organization, Korea- Japan Forum, and Korea Plaza Hiroba, must not be used in non-business uses, and not be made on public even after the expiration of the contract.

3. Avoid use of personal cellular phone or private messengers during the working time.

4. When receiving the e-mail from the secretariat, the Intern has to carefully read all the instructions, and confirm receipt of email.

5. Use designated email address only. When sending emails, every email should include the mail address of the supervisor ().

6. When the Intern sends an e-mail to more than 2 persons, use BCC and include the e-mail address of the supervisor () in CC.

7. Report frequently. A daily work report/summary should be sent by email to the supervisor and the secretariat.

8. The intern is not allowed to give his/her personal information such as Kakao id, e-mail address, Facebook, etc. to clients that he/she met during the internship. Clients who want to keep in touch with ACOPIA interns should contact ACOPIA. If a client such as school teacher, principal or language student contacts you directly, please inform them to contact ACOPIA (Kakao id: acopiaglobal). Because interns are under ACOPIA, all communications should be done through ACOPIA.

9. Work emails should only be opened in the office.

10. The intern must avoid tardiness or absence.

11. The Intern is responsible for availing his/her medical or travel insurance.

12. Secretariat may terminate the internship and report to the sending school if the Intern has done any of the following:

> Willfully disobeyed a lawful and reasonable order

> Misconducts herself

> Is guilty of fraud or dishonesty

> Is habitually neglectful of duties

13. The Intern must write and submit an internship report within the first month. It shall be updated just before finishing the internship. The report must be 2 pages long in A4 size. It must show photos or videos of what he did during the internship. The intern’s full name as well as university name must be shown in the report.

14. (If I lived in ACOPIA Share House,)I will comply with ACOPIA Share House Rules and Regulations. If I fail to keep the rules, I leave the premise immediately.

15. I understand that there is a possibility to take over 2 students per day for Multicultural language class program.

ACOPIA Internship Program is operated independently by the intern's effort while working at ACOPIA. ACOPIA uses the money from the intern's effort in the workplace to pay for the personnel, leasing the place, utility bills, and so on to operate and maintain the internship program. Due to that, our source of income is from the below operations

- Multicultural Class(one on one tutoring)

- Share House

- Boarding House Networks

17. Interns must submit a copy of their visa and passport (biographical page) on the day of orientation to the internship.

This agreement may not be modified in any manner unless it is presented in writing and is signed by both parties. This document and any attachments constitute the entire agreement between the parties. This agreement binds and benefits both parties and any successors.
