Conference Call - Minutes

Attendees: Bridget Wadzuk (Chair), Jeff Glenn (Vice Chair), Blaine Linkous (Secretary), Kwabena Osei, Peter Mattejat, Heather Seitz, Nathan Turk, Jessica Krueger, Michael Ports, Rahul Parab

• The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM.
• The meeting attendees introduced themselves.

• A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the last meeting held on 12/4/13. The minutes were then approved.

• Five sessions: Soil/Water Nexus, Stormwater BMP Maintenance, Emergency Disaster Management, Stormwater Controls, Green Highways/Green Streets
• 23 papers, no posters. Three posters were submitted, but the authors did not register for conference
• Sessions scheduled: Monday afternoon (last session), Tuesday morning and afternoon
• Committee meeting sometime at Conference: attend or call in.

• Focused on mission statement
• Integrate at regional level: grow local chapters. Many people are registered but not many attend conferences. Recruitment, retention, integrate at local level also.
• More access through web and online content. Website is static, message boards are more dynamic
• Trying to have more links with municipal and industry contacts, move away from academic and focus on practicioners.
• Joint breakfast Tuesday at Conference with the Environmental Council
• 2015 Congress: May 17-21 in Austin, TX
• August 2016 Hawaii conference

• Urban Stormwater Outreach
• Bridget for Rob Traver – Alan Davis, UMB selected editor of Journal. Currently in process to find assistant editor. More technical notes and accessible info. If interested or for more information, contact Bridget
• Guidelines for Certification of Manufactured Stormwater BMPs
• Final stages, on its way to be published.
• Stormwater BMP Maintenance
• Report given by Blaine Linkous. Not making a whole lot of progress. Conference call next week to get draft put together and finalized and revise formatting issues.
• Emergency Stormwater
• Task committee meeting is a go. Could discuss at Conference in June during overall committee meeting.

• Bridget: consider new ideas and discuss in Portland.
• Reach out to high school students for involvement. Create workshop module for teachers to use?

• Green Highways and Green Streets Committee
• No updates
• Sustainability Committee
• No updates

• Time for committee meeting in Portland: Tuesday evening preferred by most.

• The next meeting is scheduled to occur in Portland. Final date, time, and location will be announced at a later date.
